After watching bid-up.tv (on channel 651 on SKY), I found it rather entertaining. It is an auction channel where there is a minimum bid needed and a certain number of the product available. As soon as there are more people bidding than the number of products, the auction begins to rise. There is usually about 5-10 mins before the hammer goes ... Read the complete review

If you want a channel that is both amusing and offers you hugh discounts then this is for you. Bid-Up TV has jumped aboard the shopping TV bandwagon but with a difference - you control the price you pay! The auctioneers are bubbly, bright and breezy with the occasional hiccups making the shows more appealing. A wide range of products on ... Read the complete review

I’ve been watching bid-up tv for several months. I find it an excellent way of buying high quality goods for the price of medium quality. However, there are some pitfalls to be avoided if you’re not going to pay too much. The first thing I’d recommend is watch it for several days, at different times, before you bid. ... This must be the cheapest least thought out TV programme ever put on air, whether its terrestrial, digital, or whatever. You need access to Sky TV to watch this channel. (Don't be too distressed if you don't, you've missed nothing.) Various items are shown o screen at very low prices. Viewers ring in and bid for them. Then ... Read the complete review

Bid up TV, a great idea, but sadly a wasted one. The idea is that the TV channel acts as a auction selling goods at a reduced price, to which they are available on the high street. In reality the products that are sold on the whole don't get sold for that much of a saving. The goods are usually started off at a very low ... Read the complete review

Bid-up.tv has solved yet another mystery of life for me - where do once-famous tv personalities go to when they're not famour anymore? Bid-up tv is one of those channels that you'll either like or hate. It's a bit of QVC meets the Shopping channel crossed with QXL. If you see something oyu like, you make a bid for it. It shows you on ... Read the complete review

For anyone who likes online auction sites and has access to sky digital Television, then Bid-Up TV should be a channel you should check out. Bid up TV is one of the worst channels on SKY. It goes to show the mentality of the general British Public. The RRP is an average between Harrods and Pound Stretcher. The very first item I saw on this program was a mouse/telephone, which sold for about £23 (what a bargain) oh yes + £4 postage & packing + 60p to make the bid. ... Read the complete review

Update: 25 Oct 00. ********************************************* I still think that this channel is great, but I must add an update that I think that this channel is suffering from a distinct lack of products. They are having to continually repeat the same products in the same hours. This could be good news if you miss out on a bargain ... Read the complete review
