Advantages: Testosterone Type Programming That's Well Though Out

Disadvantages: Maybe Not As Popular With Women. Parental Guidance For Children Sometimes Needed

Bravo is a UK digital satellite television channel that can be found on channel 123 for Sky Satellite viewers and channel 136 for Virgin Media cable viewers.

It started broadcasting in 1985 and has now added a sister channel Bravo 2 as well as Bravo +1 which repeats all of the main Bravo (1) channel's broadcasts an hour afterwards.

It has a current approximate audience share of 0.2%. To put this into perspective here are some other approximate audience share figures.

QVC 0.2%
Living 0.7%
C5 4.7%
C4 7.4%

Its main target audience is men under the age of 30. Some of its most popular and/or notable programmes are Dog The Bounty Hunter, UFC Cage Fighting, The Ultimate Fighter (UFC Reality Series), Cops On Camera, TNA Impact!, Battlestar Galactic, The A Team, Street Crime UK, Booze Britain, Sin Cities (contains some soft porn), Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and World's Most Amazing Videos.

Many of the programmes are in my opinion largely aimed at viewers with a low attention span or whom just want some easy viewing with some instant fast moving action in it.

Having said that, many of the programmes are of a high production quality and award winning in their genre.

The UFC and Dog The Bounty Hunter programmes are very good and the UFC in particular is gaining an ever bigger audience and is mounting a serious challenge to professional boxing in terms of live gate receipts, pay per view subscribers and free to air viewing figures.

Summary:

Bravo is definitely a channel on the up. It knows what it does best and it sticks to it. It is worth adding it to your favourites or at least flicking to it as an option when there is not a better programme on elsewhere. Some parental guidance/supervision is required for certain programmes.

Summary: This Is A Cracking Good Channel That Excels In Its Specialist Area.
