Advantages: good shows
Disadvantages: repeats
Bravo is one of those channels that seems to have gone down-hill in recent months. In many ways, it's a victim of its own success, as it now shows so much of the same shows.
This British TV channel is aimed at men in their late 20s to early 40s, and as such is filled with macho programming. It's surprising to see, but they only show about half a dozen different shows, and they just play lots and lots of them!
The first thing they show is Dog the Bounty Hunter. Now, I am a big fan of this show. It basically follows a family run firm of bail bondsmen in Hawaii, as they hunt down criminals. It's testosterone filled fun, and it's all high antics and muscle bound bravado. They run around with a fair bit of over the top energy, and even though each show is pretty much identical, it still always entertains me.
The second show they cover is TNA, which is a wrestling promotion. Unlike WWE, it's a bit more raw and basic, but it still pretty much does the same thing with steroid infused muscle men straddling each other in lycra: nice!
Both of these programs show a lot on this channel, and I have to say that even I can get a bit bored of them. I mean, there are only half a dozen different things on the whole channel!
Really, there's not enough variety in the channel. Both TNA and Dog are very repetitive and easy to predict shows, so the lack of variety in programming and content makes the whole thing a big dull after a while.
All in all, this is a good channel to dip in and out of, but its repetitive nature makes it boring after a while if you want to watch it more than sporadically.
Summary: do it
