Advantages: Awesome Cartoons
Disadvantages: Repeats
When watching the adverts for Cartoon Network, you find they make many claims to having the best cartoons and best cartoon saga's etc. When you watch the channel however you find that they are lying. Not Cartoon Network, I mean they as in the people who say, "cartoons are for kids". I'm no kid and neither is my 25-year-old brother but we still watch it. Yes Cartoon Network's claims to having the best cartoons and cartoon sagas are well justified when you watch the channel. They feature cartoons such as DragonBall Z and Johnny Bravo etc. These are both for kids and adults I assure you. Its obvious that cartoons on this channel are meant for adults as well seeing as there are many allusions that children just would not understand. This channel I often find myself watching more than anything else on Sky. They have a great variety of cartoons, all of which would definitely keep the kids happy if you have any. I mean it keeps me happy and I'm an adult. Of course it runs for 24 hours so if you have really young children who wake up early or something then they can watch Barney or a cartoon for the younger children. Every now and then Cartoon Network also shows a cartoon movie. Especially at Christmas time like now. This is just something even more special about Cartoon Network that will help entertain either yourself or your kids. The only disadvantage that Cartoon Network holds is the same as all Sky channels and that is that it has repeats of cartoons every now and then. This can get annoying if you're a real devoted fan to a cartoon saga such as DragonBall Z. Still the wait is worth it and the repeats are still good to watch. Cartoon Network + 1hr ---------------------- This is another of Cartoon Network's channels, which simply plays cartoons from Cartoon Network an hour later then on normal Cartoon Network. This means anything you've missed like the all-important ep
isode of DragonBall Z, can be seen an hour after its normal time. Boomerang ---------- This channel from Cartoon Network brings back the old classic cartoons such as 'Top Cat' and 'The Flintstones'. These are simply fantastic for those of us who are old enough to remember these great Cartoons. To be honest I'm not that old and I still know these classics. This would suit kids when they got bored and would of course suit parents who do not like the new cartoons but love these old ones. All I have to say is that if you have kids or not you should still watch this channel. Do not be embarrassed about it, my friends 'diss' me all the time but I never care because I know they secretly do it themselves when they get home. Its just like they say Cartoon Network is "where the best toons hang out".

- 14/10/01 Cartoon network is the greatest. I have three young grandchildren and they love it. Of course, granny sits and watches it with them. Fantastic op. |

- 28/11/00 Cartoon Network will get better in January - They've picked up the rights to screen the wonderful/awful (depending on whether you like the original Gundam or not) Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.
I like it a lot, more than DBZ certainly, and enough to be importing the US DVD releases. Gundam has big robots, big robots are good. |
