Advantages: keeps kids quiet

Disadvantages: mostly unadulterated rubbish!

To be honest, I would not have even bothered to watch the Cartoon Network if someone's brat (sorry, child!) had not been visiting my house.

Although there are a few old faithfuls, with quality animation (such as the 1940s Tom & Jerry cartoons) or with a certain level of wit (such as the Flintstones), the majority is badly drawn junk, full of extreme violence.

I cannot think that it does much for the average child's mind to sit there absorbing an endless diet of this yankee pap for hour after hour.
