Hours of entertainment for the kids (CBeebies)

Advantages: Educational, on all day

Disadvantages: On all day, very wacky and a bit odd sometimes

The first time I saw CBeebies was just about two years after I had my first child and it became a great way to keep her content for several hours while I did all the house work. I did see something on television the other day saying that CBeebies has been established since 1943 which really got me wondering!

Quite a lot of big time celebrities have also taken part working as presenters on some of the Cbeebies shows, including a few members of the cast of Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps. I do find the style of these childrens shows to be a little over the top in eccentricity, some of them are really wacky and I would even go as far as to say that some of them are trippy!

One show that springs to mind is The Zorst Report - the pirate radio station which ironically is being shown on television! And of course, there are the classic well known shows such as The Tweenies. Some of the shows do have a decent educational side to them which is kind of reassuring but I do wonder sometimes about how the eccentricity and mentality of some of the shows affects the children.

Cbeebies is basically on all day every day and finishes at around 7PM. This is good to keep the children occupied but sometimes it can be a little too convenient and it's not really healthy for them to be sat in front of the television for too many hours.

Summary: A childrens with a good educational side, though a bit on the wacky/trippy side
