Advantages: Updated All the time! , fast, easy!

Disadvantages: Dated

The Internet and other interactive digital services are being used more and more
in present day and as a result of this, reducing the number of people that use
Ceefax.

BBC’s Ceefax service is constantly updated and provides a wide variety of
services, including news, sport and entertainment.

Although the limitations of Ceefax do not allow most images and services
Internet users are now used too.
The system will develop as technology does though.

The BBC are sure to follow this in the medium term and launch their own digital
text service to keep, and gain potential customers and make a name for
themselves in the ever growing world of technology.

Another advantage that Ceefax will always have over the Internet is, for
example, early in the morning, it is often not convenient to connect to the
Internet (especially if your computer takes a long time) to look for information.
However, switching on a television takes a few second and information can be
viewed on Ceefax!

The disadvantages as I have mentioned of Ceefax are that the service is dated
and because of the analogue TV standard, it cannot be further developed.

But, with digital TV becoming more widely used, the plain text system is likely to
change dramatically!

The changes are in the pipeline, so wait and see what the future brings!
