Advantages: good variety and suitable for most people

Disadvantages: HOLLYOAKS

On the whole, Channel 4, and its digital channels are a have a good variety of shows for all types of people. The channel started broadcasting in 1988, and is a commercial channel, so adverts are on this channel.

*What Types Of Shows Are On Channel 4?*
Lots and lots is the simple answer. In the daytime there aren't that many top quality programmes, I watch ITV for daytime. There are shows like Friends and Will and Grace though, also there are older type films and news at 12 noon.
After three o'clock is where the fun starts. Countdown, followed by Deal or no deal are game show type shows, which are great entertainment. Deal or no deal is a fairly simple but effective show where players choose boxes with prizes in, but the banker tries to stop them from winning. 5 to 6 is the Paul O'Grady show, a chat show hosted by, Paul O'Grady, strangely enough. It is a fun show to watch, and it includes many daft things. Paul is a very funny host, and the audience are too. Then at 6 is The Simpsons, which needs no introduction. Half six is Holly Oaks, which is Channel 4 attempt at a soap, but don't really like it that much. 7 till 8 is the news.
After that channel 4 has a lot of good shows, from drama, comedy, documentary and films. They have got great British shows, such as the IT Crowd, Shameless and many film that are British.
Overall a great variety of programme.

*Digital Channels*
There are also digital channel run by C4. E4, Film 4, More 4 and 4 Music, these all have plus one channels. All these channels are available on Freeview, Sky and Virgin Media. E4 is a channel made to show in advance and explain more things on C4, so Shameless episode 2 would be on if C4 had episode 1. Film 4 is, well, films, there are a lot of British Films, but some are fairly old, there are only a few premiers per month. More 4 is a documentary channel, with a lot of educational shows on it, I personally do not watch this channel. 4 Music is, well, Music. A normal music channel with the "in" kind of music.

Overall a good network of channels, that all have a good variety of shows. British shows are well supported on this network of channels.

Thanks for Reading

Summary: great betwork of channels
