It is time to be fair to Channel 5. The channel is slated left, right and centre, a lot of which is unfair and brought about by people who don't watch the channel. First of all it does produce decent programmes. I actually happen to prefer their news programmes, which are lighter without being punchless. Okay, so the newsreaders ... Read the complete review

After getting used to the fact that there was going to be another terrestrial channel available to me, I thought it would be ok, but it seems that Channel 5 has never had the take off it's managers might have been expecting - It consists of over-hyped and under produced cheap soaps that generally contain poor acting combined with bad camera ... Channel 5 came on our screens a couple of years back and apart from being able to screen football matches, it's been a big let down.(Even bigger if you don't like football) The guests on chat shows have often been second rate, and I think the fact they show a lot of sex, does indicate a lack of any real direction. It's almost as bad as ... Read the complete review

Channel 5 might not last. It really is poor. I kept expecting it to take off and improve, like Channel 4 did, but it has got much worse since it started. Showing nudity and soft porn is not the way to get a big regular loyal audience. Maybe they get enough advertising to make a big enough profit, but I think they might just pack in soon. ... Channel 5 has some good programmes on especially with Family Affairs. The last time I watched channel five was when they showed live coverage of a Liverpool game, when they played in Ireland, which was in pre-season. I think as a channel it has improved a lot, and the rating must reflect this. I think when everyone has Channel five and not just ... Read the complete review

A lot of peole don't like Channel 5 because it doesn't have the kind of built-in audience the other channel have. Let's face it, it's almost 20 years since Channel 4 started up - took a long time for them to get the image they have today, and Channel 5 is starting from scratch. The fact is that Channel 5 actually superior ... Read the complete review

I have read a lot of opinions on C5 which either seem to say that it is good or that it is really bad..... Now if you think about it anyone's opinion on a single channel will be biased depending on their interests and the type of prog. that they like. So some of us like the late-night sport or adult films on C5 whereas others like ... Read the complete review

Friends who cannot get Channel 5 complain that they can't get it when I've had it since it was launched. I soon point out that there has only been about three things worth watching since it's launch. Channel 5 has been portrayed as being a trashy, cheap channel obsessed with soft porn and that portrayal is 100% accurate. They do ... Read the complete review

Channel 5 is constontly critisised but I really like it. When theres fooball on they have a decent commentator - Jonathon Pearce. There's some good movies on. Theres movies for everyone children and adults. There news has been better than ITV, BBC, etc. as its more relaxed. Kirsty Young was very good - a shame she's left. Channel 5 will ... Grainy images, programmes of mind-numbing quality, imports that the poorest cable channels would reject - to get this franchise, someone at Channel 5 clearly had to sell the channel's soul to the Prince of Darkness and we can see how they have to pay the price. Family Affairs? The place where ex-soap stars go to die. The News? ... Read the complete review

Don't worry if you miss a live football match on channel 5, you are safe in the knowledge that it will be repeated every night for the rest of the week on Live and Dangerous. That is if you can watch it through the fuzz and thats not just the bad reception. Surely if channel 5 paid more than the minimum wage they could attract more ... Read the complete review

Sex, more sex and even more sex. This channel is like euro trash 24/7. Now I have nothing against adult programs , far from it I watch alot of late nite TV and find alot of different programs entertaining. But the level of service channel 5 is pumping out is utter crap. The sports used to be everynite around 11:30pm until the early hours ... Read the complete review

Channel 5 has to be owned by Sky. Everywhere in the North of England can not pick channel 5 clearly. It’s an awful picture quality and you have to have sky to be able to view it properly. It’s also has a very similar tackiness to Sky with many computerised purple backgrounds and has News reports in the middle of programs. Just like Sky ... Read the complete review

Why should you stop knocking 5? Simply because the people at work behind channel 5 are trying their best against tough competiton. When you consider that they haven't got half as much money as the BBC nor have they been around as long as ITV you have to cut them SOME slack. Okay, I know that some parts of the country STILL can't ... Read the complete review

Can I just say Well Done to Channel 5 for providing those of us who cant sleep at night something interesting to watch. Every night during the week I get to watch the sports I like on Channel 5. When I first heard that we were goning to have a 5th free tv channel I was excited. I thought that this would give me some more varity as of what I want to watch. When it came out I was very disapointed. There is (or ever has been) not one good show, on this channel. They have their own cheap and nasty attemp at a soap. A couple of cheap ... Thankfully, Channel 5 is free, as I struggle to find anything worthwhile to watch on it. When you ask people that can not get the channel due to poor reception, they are not really bothered, as they never see anything worthwhile in the channel guide anyway. I suppose the channel does get the odd football match, sometimes even an England ... Read the complete review

Channel 5 is complete and utter trash and isn't far removed from being porn TV. I am far from being a prude (I will be launching an adult entertainment web site, though not porn) - in fact, I am extremely broad minded. I think that the bosses at Channel 5 have a fetish for naked flesh and, as long as they can flash a naked body on the ... Read the complete review

Am I the only person in the world who hates football coverage on Channel 5. Jonathon Pearce is the most bias and annoying commentator that we have on television. He is far too aggressive for this role, and we need to have some one calmer instead. The coverage is not as good as ITV in general, and the half time analysis is laughable. With C5 ... It might be the highest number, in the channels but as they say "size doesn't matter." First thing that is wrong about five is that the picture is not very clear, and is sometimes can get very snowy which is not acceptable. but maybe that isn't there fault, or maybe it is.
