Loud mouths, small brains (CNBC)

Advantages: Shows business news throughout the day

Disadvantages: Really in your face and irritating

CNBC is one of the few English speaking channels I have here on Polish cable, anyone flicking through would be forgiven for taking a dim view at English speaking media if they based their opinion on this rubbish.

CNBC (Consumer News and Business Channel) tends to focus on business news, regularly talks about the stock market and exchange rates - this is done by the reporter and various "experts" who usually broadcast their opinions in a most chaotic hyper way, shortening phrases and speaking quickly with typically simple American grammar whilst cracking unfunny jokes and generally being very dramatic.

Occasionally the business spiel is interrupted by snippets of regular news, they often keep the same expert on board to discuss general issues and this is when you can see that they are clearly out of their depth when being asked about things they don't know they seem destined to make errors. Of course it's all done in a very amateurish and loud way and makes me think "thank god I'm not a yank!"

The headlines they come up with are there to shock, today they described Australian Prime-Minister Kevin Rudd as a serial-killer due to his agreement to cull camels in Australia. It's entertaining for a few minutes just to see the over the top and often ignorant performance the news reader and expert give but overall I think it's an absolutely awful channel!
