Advantages: teaches, makes one think, exciting to watch

Disadvantages: none that I can see

Discovery channel is just what it says. You can travel deep in the ocean or be in the ER watching how things are done and how animals live and get along together. I have nothing but the highest regard for this channel and love to watch it. The subjects that are covered are fascinating to watch and they have a world of subjects to show. It brings the real world right before us while we sit back in our recliner and watch.

The program titled "Science Of The Deep" is one that I like to watch. You can dive right under the water and not even get wet. How about that for something neat. Think about the things from under the water that are showed on the screen. Just think about the fact that some people wouldn't even get a chance to see this stuff if it weren't for being put up on the television screen. The things under the water are so unusual and beautiful. It's all made available to be appreciated through the Discovery Channel.

Then they showed a program about dinosaurs, Walking With Dinosaurs, It brings the long ago right up to our doorstep. Think about if those creatures were here today. What about the people who lived back then? Picture you and your family on a path and all of a sudden one of these huge creatures crosses your path. What would you do? Think about how much bigger they are than you. I would like to go back in a time machine to see what it was like in that time period. These are the questions that cross my mind when I watch a program like this.

I could rave on and on about the Discovery channel but then before I was through you all would be yawning. Espeically the folks that already know what the discovery channel is all about.

I would like people to know though that the channel covers a variety of different subjects from things from out in space to surgery and much, much more. You just have to see the channel to realize there's a world of information just by turning your television on a
nd turning it to the Discovery Channel.

So you see the Discovery Channel is not only a informative channel but it also gets your mind to thinking.

I would highly recommend this channel to people of early teen age and above.
