Advantages: A range of shows to suit everyone

Disadvantages: terrible shows during the day when the children are at school

No doubt Disney no what they are doing when it comes to entertaining children and the Disney channel does not fail to deliver. It's programs are targeted towards children to young teenagers but that doesn't mean that older audiences would enjoy watching some of the shows.

They show a number of different shows on here including Hannah Montana, The Suite life of Zack and Cody, Phineas and Pherb, Sonny with a Chance and many many more. Usually they only show the popular shows during prime time and the rest of the time there are old classics like Recess which are good for a reminiscing session. The channel is also known to show Disney original films like the infamous High School Musical and Camp Rock. They are all really innocent but entertaining shows and no doubt keep your children entertained for hours.

Another great thing i love about the Disney channel is that there are no adverts!! They show one or two of their own adverts between shows but that's it! It's great because you don't have to wait around wasting your time. The shows are great fun, they're light hearted and are usually have an element of comedy to them.

The Disney channel has made some big stars such as Miley Cyrus and the Jonas brothers and you can watch their shows on there. Although they do like to replay a lot of old episodes but which channel doesn't. But they also release new episodes as they are made and there's really no harm watching some of the shows all over again as they grow on you and you find yourself being entertained by the exaggerated acting and predictable plots regardless of your age.

You really have to commend some of the child actors and actresses as they do a great job. Especially Miley Cyrus she's fully convincing in her role and is confident at what she does. Like most channels there are also show that obviously there to fill in the time and you find yourself asking how such shows get any air time at all. As the bell rings is an example of this. Both the British and American versions are terrible the primary school level jokes are terrible and totally not funny. They're almost cringe worthy and the acting is so forced and fake but i guess you get a laugh watching them attempt to be funny. If you watch it during the evening and weekends then you're bound to come across a show that will take to you liking and you find yourself happily watching it with your children.

Summary: A great channel for kid and young teenagers
