Eurosport is a sports channel that comes with most cable packages in their basic packages.

I have some fond memories of watching this channel and just finding the commentary so bizarre in a weird way; it used to be the case that the commentators were like some bunch of quirky eccentrics, and I loved that!

These days, you can watch some really good sports on this channel. UEFA Champions League is on there, as are a couple of the best rallys (Paris Dakar and Monte Carlo). Still, for me the main reason to watch it is to see the brilliant Tour De France. Hundreds of lycra clad men cycling up and down hills isn't for everyone, but for me, it's got a strange attraction to it.

The channel is pretty unique in my eyes in that it has something for everyone. For example, the younger viewers among the nation will enjoy the likes of surfing and extreme sports programs. These are edited and presented in a way to appeal to young teens, whereas some of the other events, such as the cycling, has a much more mature style of presentation and less catchy editing. Because of this broad scope, I do believe this is one of the few channels that can be enjoyed by the whole family (maybe not mum!)

Considering it's a cheap-o channel, it has a great variety of events on it, and is certainly something to bear in mind when considering buying sports packages from your supplier.
