Advantages: Loads of great films
Disadvantages: It's not 24 hours a day
In order to receive FilmFour you have to pay an extra £6 a month, but this is without a doubt the most worthwhile £6 a month that can be spent when it comes to subscription TV channels. Believe it or not, despite the number of opinions on TV and films that I've written, I do have a life elsewhere! I don't get much of a chance to watch films when they are broadcast, but I do have a huge pile of video tapes which have built up over the years waiting for me to watch them when I get a chance. Since subscribing to FilmFour this pile of tapes has grown at an exponential rate! There's at least 3 films a night which I want to tape, although some nights I don't manage to get even one, if I'm doing other things. From indie flicks to arthouse flicks to blockbusters, FilmFour has them all and then some. The only downside is that it only airs films 12 hours a day, although I guess if they went to 24 hours I'd be struggling to tape even more great movies! If you are a fan of the movies, then I can't for the life of me think of a better way to spend a spare £6 a month.

- 30/11/00 I don't have Sky or Cable or anything like that... so I can't get Film Four. Which is a shame, but then again UK Gold & Film Four are the only things I would watch if I could so I suppose it's not really worth it for me. Thanks for your opinion though... :) |
