Freeview Drives me insane!!

Freeview, apparently "excellent" technology which has changed many peoples lives allowing them to watch many channels for a simple one of charge.

I have had nothing but trouble with my freeview box although it does offer some good channels. I can never seem to be able to watch a program without interference and the program jumping as the signal is low, the volume goes off and the picture just isnt clear. Its so frustrating. I live in the middle of a large town, I thought this was a problem just with me, but alot of the people i know also have the same issue.

The channels that you get are good and most of them are the ones which you get with a subscription service i.e. sky or vigin media. Be aware that you will not get any of the popular movie or sports channels as you will have to pay for these. You get film four with most freeview boxes which has a selection of movies on, however most seem to be from previous years and it is unlikely that you will get a movie premier on here.

Some of the channels which are avilable on Freeview are

Fiver, Five US, Film 4, BBc1, BBc2, BBc3, BBc4, Itv1, Itv2, Itc 4, Itv 4, Itv+1, channel 4, E4, E4+1, more 4, five, sky three, uktv history, virgin1, smile tv, nuts tv,, dave, cbbc, cbeebies, citv, bbc news, sky sports news, the hits, tmf, qvc, price drop tv, bid tv

A lot of these channels are owned by the normal channel BBc1,BBC2,Itv, Four and Five.

There are some good points to Freeview, the one off charge makes it available for people who cannot afford a monthly subscription. There is a variety, i.e. history channels, music channels, news channels, childrens tv channels, shopping channels and ordinary channels.

You also can digitally preselect what you want to watch so when it starts the channel wil automatically switch over to the desired channel.

You can but Freeview set top boxes for around £20 pounds from most stores however you can now buy TV's with intergrated freeview. Please be aware that if you have a seperate stand alone Arial that plus into the back of your TV you may find it very diffcult to find channels when searching for them with your freeview box (i did..it wouldnt find any at all)

Summary: Freeview, good for those who cannot afford a monthly subscription.

I have the same problem. Very frustrating. It's usually best in the evening, but in the day, I can't bear it.
