Advantages: Great value for money
Disadvantages: Signal sometimes goes
Freeview is the cheapest way of adding extra channels to the given 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. It has dropped so much in price it is now possible to pay on £15 or so to add an extra 40 channels or so with no other cost after that initial outlay.
It is very easy to set up, I just followed the instructions given and I'm no technical genius by a long shot.
After the quick installation process where it searches for the channels you are ready to go.
I won't go on about all the channels listed just the main ones and in my opinion the best ones.
BBC Three- Channel 7... Doesn't start till 7pm but then the programmes on it are usually good ones. Eastenders is repeated at 10pm if you missed it, there's Family Guy, The Real Hustle, Two pints of Larger and a Packet of Crisps, there is also a lot of documentary type programmes like the one I watched the other day about so many young girls wanting to be wags.
BBC Four -channel 8 I believe... I'm not a fan of this programme as its history type programmes are not what I enjoy.
ITV 2 channel 6... Often shows quite good films, About a Boy was on the other day. There is also the Coronation repeat and omnibus and other ITV shows such as You've Been Framed and Planets Funniest Animals. There is also an ITV 3.
There's all the 'four' channels too including Channel four +1 (channel four but an hour later!), More 4, Film 4 and of course E4 and E4 +1. These are a great addition you will always find something to watch on these although I rarely find films I like on Film Four.
There is a few shopping channels including Bid TV and QVC but I hate this type of programme.
Channel fives spin off's including Fiver and Five Life. Most of the time though the programmes on here are quite bad or repeats from years ago.
Over all I love having this Freeview box in my bedroom, the extra channels make watching television much better for me and I'd be lost without it if I had to make do with the terrestrial ones.
Summary: You'll wonder how you managed without it

- 29/12/08 We've still no freeview reception here and don't expect it til 2010 even though my mum has it round the corner! It's too unreliable for my liking. |
