Advantages: No extra / hidden costs and wide selection of channels

The name says it all - Freeview allows for you as the viewer to obtain digial television, with quite a wide selection of channels to choose from. Many of the channels which one can obtain on Freeview are also shown on regular cable TV. Freeview is a box which connects in to your television and is very easy to set up / install or move around. Freeview is not too expensive and it is definitely worth buying if you currently use standard television channels, ie: BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4 and Five. Freeview entitles you to quite a choice of various channels and there are no hidden / extra costs involved - ie: no subscription. If you are in the mood for watching a film, you have got Film 4, Virgin 1, Five USA and many other great channels that offer films. However, if you are in the mood of watching something easy (ie: a series), then you have also got ITV2, Dave, E4, Five USA and many other great channels. Freeview also has connection with Sky News & Sky Sport News, so you will never miss out on whats going in the world. If music is your interest, Freeview has got 4Music and TMF, playing both old and new music.

I first purchased my Freeview box about 2 years ago and have never had a problem with it. I find the service great and it is definitely an "up-grade" from the 5 regular TV channels.
