Freeview is a series of digital telveision channels which will soon replace the old analogue signal. It has various positives and negatives which i will show here, and hopefully help you decide whether or not you'd want this, or prefer to go for the more expensive digital services available. Ok first off, soon the analogue ... Read the complete review

As everyone is now no doubt aware analogue signals for television transmissions are being phased out and replaced with Digital ones. Within the next few years the only way you will be able to watch any programmes on your TV will be via some sort of digital receiver and the cheapest way to maintain this is via Freeview. Unlike Sky or ... Read the complete review

I have owned a Freeview box for a number of years now and am very impressed with what you get for such a low price. Freeeview is a service which provides extra digital channels to your television and of course you will be able to use this still when the analogue signal is turned off and we are all digital!! In the past if you did not subscribe for paid television then you only had five channels to choose from originally-BBC One and Two, ITV, Channel Four and Five. Since October 2002 the Freeview service has allowed anyone with a television set to access free-to-air digital TV channels, radio stations and interactive services through an aerial. ... We've had our TV service delivered by Virgin Media and its predecessors (Cabletel, :ntl...) for over 10 years now so you might be wondering why I should be bothering about writing a review of Freeview since I can clearly get all the Freeview channels and more with our cable service! Well, let's say that in the past, and even occasionally today, ... Read the complete review

We have been using freeview for so many years and we're one of those satisfied customer so we got another one for our bedroom which only cost us £18. It's the cheapest one from tesco, and the brand is called dion. Well I'm honestly not familiar with that name but I don't mind the brand really as long as it works. The good thing is it's quite ... We used to have Sky but got rid of it when we realised we spent most of our time watching 'normal' TV, however after spending a while having just 5 channels we found this very limiting and there was often nothing to watch. Not wanting to pay £40 a month again we decided that we would get a Freeview box and see what channels we could get for ... Read the complete review

Freeview is an alternative to subscription services, and offers you around 50 tv channels, and about 25 radio stations. Once you have purchased a free view box or a tv with it built in, you never have to pay anything again. There are 2 different types of freeview, standard, which uses an arial, and free sat, which is from a satellite. Free sat is ... Read the complete review

Freeview is a way of getting digital channels for free (sort of) - if you're buying a new TV and don't want to fork our for Sky or other subscriptions then a lot of new tellies have Freeview built in. You can also get Freevew plus and other various packages. Or you can buy a set-top box, which is what I have. It cost me £15 and that was a couple ... Read the complete review

Freeview is the name given to all the channels in the UK on the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Service. Its totally free (hence the snappy name for the service...) and works through existing aerials if they are compatible (which most are!). When analogue TV is completely shut off - it has started in areas of the country already - ... Read the complete review

Freeview is the new digital television service provided with the aim of enabling Britain to turn off all analogue broadcasts by 2012. Freeview is a range of popular channels that can be accessed using a Freeview tuner. You can buy Freeview boxes that can be plugged in to the analog aerial slot but the majority of new TVs have a built in Freeview receiver. I have found that the major downside is that the signal is not always strong enough to work properly on my TV. I have ... Read the complete review

Freeview is great if you can get it, i highly recommend you check the signal in your area before you get a set top box and check that your tv aerial is strong enough. Since I have been using Freeview for the last 5 years more and more channels have become available. Before Freeview became widely available you were stuck with the normal 5 analogue channels or you had to sign up to Sky or NTL (Cable) if you wanted to receive additional channels. Freeview is a relief for those of us who refuse to go with Sky etc. My beef with Sky is not actually paying for their service, but I have heard from so many others that when you get a problem you better be patient with call centres - I am not. When a friend of mine decided to upgrade to Sky + with HD I inherited his Freeview box for free. It was around £29.99 brand new about 3-4 years ago from Tesco.
