I have been a fan of Gems tv for a while now, and have bought many things for myself and my family. The advantage of this tv channel is that you are buying directly from the suppliers of the gems, so you know you are getting 100% actual gemstones, not glass, and also a fantastic deal. There are two ways to buy, the way to get the best deal is to watch the live tv, which you also can do via the internet, then when you see what you want, pick up the phone or click on your computer to buy. Sometimes you have to be fast, as they run a 'reverse auction' which mean everyone pays the lowest price that they display, so even if you agree to buy when something is for example, 49.99, you may end up getting it for less than half that! One thing that is useful is that sometimes after the auction the item will still be available at the low price for up to an hour, in case you cant make up your mind straightaway. Purchasing 'live' or just after the auction is the cheapest way to get a bargain. You can also buy using their 'online shop' at any time, still great deals and you have more of a selection to browse from but usually not quite as cheap. Oh and delivery is only £2.95 for EVERYTHING you buy in one day, so if you want to have a look at a few things then you can have them all delivered, and send back what you don't want as long as you haven't taken the tags off etc.
OMG! www.gemstv.co.uk !!! So i went round to my mums house and started watching this TV channel called Gems tv that she is always watching and rants on about all the time, everytime i pop in she has a new thing she has bought and to be honest I quite often comment on a gorgeous bangle, or earrings..but im 32 and my mum is 57 (although a pretty trendy 57 year old) so I wasnt really thinking I would be buying from the show. However, after spending the afternoon drinking tea and watching these auctions I am now addicted!!!!!! They are amazing, the tv hosts are so funny and friendly and all really know what they are talking about. I have since bought 8...yes 8 items from Gems and all have been brilliant quality, amazing value and lots of my girlie friends are now converts too since seeing me wearing pieces. My favourite so far have to be some yellow gold and blue topaz hoop earrings that I have been wearing in the evenings, they were on the reverse auction and an absolute bargain. I did buy a necklace that I returned just becuase I decided I didnt like and their customer care was excellent. So for me, my mum and my girl friends we are all addicted to Gemstv, really lovely hosts, great service, good quality product and most of all I am loving all the compliments when I wear it!! I will be doing lots of Christmas shopping on there and on www.gemstv.co.uk
I used to be addicted to this channel, don't know why I was like 11 or 12 and I would just sit there watching them auction off these gems!! I was interested in geography and rocks and so on then, so that could be why... and it led me to my first purchase on Gemstv. ~~~PRODUCTS~~~ There was a wide range of products available, ranging from diamonds, to tanzanite, to quartz, to cubic circona... it was almost endless. On TV, they seem to show the same range over and over, with a few new additions everyday, whilst on the internet website, it is all there for you to see, you can choose which one you want and auction or buy it now... ~~~EASE OF USE~~~ It is extremely simple and easy. For the TV version, you just call in and bid, whilst on the internet, you pay by credit, debit card once you have made your selection. I made my purchase within 5 minutes of finalising my choice and checkout was quick and easy. ~~~PRICE~~~ Products range in price, some from about £5 all the way up in the thousands! As a young teen, I was not able to purchase anything way expensive, but selected a few nice pieces and paid about £30 for it, including delivery, for three pendants and a chain. ~~~DELIVERY AND PRODUCT RECEIVED~~~ The delivery was done by courier and was received within a few weeks. It was securely packaged and each item had its own little box and a certificate of authenticity. The products do look the way I imagined, if not better, which is good, and the finish is quite good quality... ~~~OVERALL~~~ Overall, I was happy with my transaction but on hindsight, what I bought was not worth it, but it is an experience. I think more research ought to be done on my part before purchase, but after that, I would be happy to shop on gemstv if they were the best option. I have only made one purchase ever, and I don't intend to return anytime soon, but the possibility is open. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an EASY way to buy jewellery but not necessarily the cheapest.
For those that don't know, GemsTV is a shopping channel with a difference. They only sell jewellery that they make themselves. They have a workshop in Thailand and buy gem stones direct from the mines, so they can sell their jewellery at lower prices than you'd find in the shops. And that brings us to the gems themselves. A vast array of gems that you probably won't have heard of before, along side the usual ones like diamond, sapphire, emerald, ruby, topaz etc etc. My favourite gem? Easy! Tanzanite. Its a beautiful blue colour, that also has flashes of purple in the right light - so thats my two fave colours in one stone then. It is only found in one mine - at the base of Mount Kilamanjaro (excuss spelling if thats wrong) in Tanzania, and they estimate that they will only have about 10 years of mining left. No other deposit of this wonderful gem has been found in the world. Gems is found on two channels (for Virgin. Three for Sky, and just the one for Freeview I think) from 8am-2am everyday. If you wish to buy, the number displayed at the bottom of the screen is a low-call rate number, so no premium costs. They will deliver to anywhere in the UK, and now Southern Ireland too. The costs vary depending on the speed in which you want to receive your items, but start at £6.95, all via courier. The customer service is very good. The call centre staff (all UK) are very helpful and can explain anything for you. If you are registered on the website (www.gemstv.co.uk) then you will get an email telling you when your items are despatched and when to expect them to be delivered. Obviously, being courier delivered, they are fully insured but need to be signed for. No big deal, you can have your items sent wherever you like. Work, Home, your mothers, a friends house. When you receive your item, you'll also get a certificate of authenticity, which states what your item is, what its made from and where the gems came from. So for example, it you bought a diamond ring, the certificate will state how much gold (or silver) and of what type (ie white, yellow or rose) of what purity (9K or 18K for example), the minimum gem weight of each type (so if you've got two different stones in a piece, you'll get the info seperate for each stone) and where the stones came from. As far as I'm aware, this is a unique service. No other jewellery I've had over the years came with such detailed information. Although all the (ladies) rings come in a size N, they have a jewellers in Birmingham (near to where Gems in based in the UK) who offer a resizing service at a great price (a lot less than highstreet jewellers) and can have your item restamped at the Assay Office for you. I can't say a bad thing about GemsTV, I'm hooked. From choice, I wouldn't buy jewellery from anywhere else. The prices and quality surpass anything I've found elsewhere.
Hi.I have expended thousand of pounds on items from Gems TV. Mostly diamonds. And I am quite desapointed to be honest above all because they have not treated me well. No good custumer service at all. Also, color and sizes are not as they show on Screen. They are different color and a lot smaller when you see them in person, so, very desapointed Return service is very poor. They do not confirm returns for days even if you have a probe of delivery from the Royal mail and keep nagging them every day. I still waiting for a confirmation and it's been 5 days already.I will not buy from them again.Eli
GemsTV was the first channel to exclusively retail jewellery to the consumer. If you've been a viewer from the off, then you'll know it's changed a lot since the early days. The quality and clarity of the gems in particular has improved greatly. The buying process itself remains simple - call, confirm and keep watching! It's a relatively inexpensive and highly addictive way to shop for jewels. The channel itself thrives on a well honed feeling of community. Presenters are personable, differing and accessible to all. Buyers have their own forums and clubs - such is the passion of a true GemsTV'er. What GemsTV really excels at is customer services. This has always been vital to its success, even from snatch-it days. Delivery is very swift, problems are sorted fairly instantly and faith is almost always restored, when anything goes awry. It's been a tough old year for everyone but it's still worth watching. There's usually something to brighten your day - even on minimal pay.
I have been watching Gems since the beginning and have bought(and have had bought for me) quite a few items. These include a citrine cluster my first purchase(-very pretty but tiny) in 9ct gold. A huge garnet solitaire and a pair of topaz earrings(bought as a present) Firstly ordering is easy and the call centre operators are helpful and friendly. Delivery is speedy and you will be told when it is due. You can also nominate any address to receive your goods. This is very useful if you can't afford to sit in and wait for your delivery. The items come well packaged and as well as the outer bag my items came wrapped in bubble wrap, they had a cardboard outer wrap and a very nice ring box. The package also contained a gems magazine which had items about presenters and features about various gemstones and a copy of a gem guide(I had the option to add this to my order) You also receive a ring sizer and details of the company they recommend using if a ring needs resizing. Each item also includes a certificate of authenticity containing information specific to your purchase ie what the gem is; country of origin and carat weight. There is also a picture of the item on the front. My husband bought my a lovely pearl and sapphire necklace which again, was stunning. I have also had a enormous garnet and white sapphire ring; a London blue and white topaz and a fantastic garnet and diamond cross(all gifts from my lovely husband!) We had the rings re sized via the company Gems recommended very easy. You send the ring and the registration card(Special delivery is recommended) tell them the size required and the ring is back within a week. I have only had to send one item back a sun-stone and topaz ring which looked awful. I followed the instructions and had no problems with hte money being refunded in full(purchase price NOT delivery) within three days. I have also changed my mind once-I ordered a watch but then was wracked with guilt so rang the next day to cancel it. The customer services lady I spoke to was lovely and I had no problem at all. I was not put under any pressure or made to feel bad in any way. However there are some things to note. Firstly. all rings come in the same size Ladies size n. This is not a huge problem although you need to factor the costs involved in resizing when you are deciding if you are getting a bargain. The mens items cone in size T. Also there have been loads of changes within the last year, various presenters have left(some to a rival jewellery channel) the station has been sold and there are a lot items I consider to be fillers(jewelled pet collar anyone?) and it is not quite as "cuddly" as it once was. I think it is well worth a look. I have learnt so much about various gems and have had the chance to aquire some really pretty items that I could never have afforded on the high street Gems 1 is on sky channel 652 Gems 2 is on sky channel 656 Virgin channel 755 & 756 They also broadcast on the freeview system(channel 43 & 44) between 7-9pm and 9am-12pm Freesat 805 the website is www.gemstv.co.uk and is well worth a look. Delivery is from £5.82 and is per day not per item so multi purchases on the same day just pay one charge. Gems are a very good, safe company to buy from. I have learned a lot from them and had fun doing so !
I like gems tv, they offer good quality jewellery at very affordable prices. gems tv only sells genuine gemstones. the website is great, you can see live streaming showing you what is on the TV. www.gemstv.co.uk check it out I have sent one item back that did not fit and was referred to the post office because they had not recieved it. despite this i have been lurred into buying from them again. very annoyed as i only got half of my money back, i recently ordered again a real diamond (not diamonique) 0.17 ct heart clover ring, its lovely design. there are lots of bargains to be had especially if you are an early bird buyer, meaning that if you stay late or wake up early you can pick up some great cheap but full of quality unique pieces. 10 day money back guarantee, so if you decide you don't like the product after seeing it, you can send it back and you are refunded minus the post and packaging. post and packaging is very reasonable at £5.95 i am hooked and would over and over.
Gems tv is a good website that sells rings necklaces and earrings of good priced gemstones,it has a webside and its own channel on sky but i personally have used the website. You can choose to bid on items or buy them outright, either way the items are good value for money, they also have a really friendly call centre if you get stuck. i have brought ex demonstration pieces as well off them which are even cheaper and have been really pleased. When you order you are told what day your delivery will arrive so you can sign for it,the postage costs £5.95 which covers as many items as you wish.Rings can be resized for a small fee as they are all made in size N Each ring comes in its own presentation box with a certificate of authenticity a catalouge and a resizing kit if you need it,i have picked upi some real bargins from this site and strongly recomend you have a look
Now Gems TV is just my kind of thing. As well as the shopping channel on satellite TV they have a website. The website has recently had an overhaul and it has improved 100%. The website allows you to search for more or less exactly what you want. So you can either look at all gold rings, or you can look at all white gold rings with yellow diamonds. They do all jewellary that you can possibly imagine. I have bought two products from them, one from the satellite channel and one from the website. Before I purchased either items I decided to set myself a budget, including P & P, and I'm proud to say I stuck to it both times. The first item I purchased was a white gold ring with a yellow diamond from the satellite channel. This was the first time I had ever bought anything from a satellite channel but the process was very simple. I was put through to a very friendly advisor who took all my details and double checked the item I had called about. It was all done in a professional manner and I felt very reassured. What I thought was good, was that they allow you to have your item delivered to any address, not the address of the credit/debit card holder. This was good for me as at the time I was working seven days a week so had it sent to my parents house rather then go back to the post office and be hanging around for weeks. The second item I purchased was a white gold ring with colour change garnets on the website. Online you are given the choice of either bidding for the item or buy now. If you choose buy now you pay slightly more but my heart was set on it, and I was still within my limit. I clicked the box, put in my debit card details, name, email and address and awaited the confirmation. I still hadn't recieved anything two hours later, but as it was in the evening and thought I'd get the email the following day. No such luck. I sent them an email to chase it up. The phoned rang 30 minutes later, it was Gems TV. They still had my phone number on files due to my other purchase via the phone. They had no record of my order and decided to ring me so they could discuss it with me. Obviously I was quite disgruntled and worried as I had given them my debit card details. The man I was speaking with quickly put my fears aside and explained that they have a record of me logging on so I was on the correct site and the fault was with their site not carrying all the information over that customers were in putting. Even so I did keep checking my bank account for the next few weeks. My order was taken once again, along with all my details. Due to the 'problem' they said that I did not have to pay any P & P, I thought this was a very good gesture on their part and was not anything I was expecting. Just a shame I couldn't get the ring for free! All in all, including the 'problem', I have been happy with the service from them and with the two rings. You definately do saved money purchasing with them rather then going to a store on the high street. Little extras you get are with all purchases you receive a book about gems. It tells you for instance which birthstone is which, this information is also on the webstite. It does go into more detail regarding the history of the gemstone and where it is sourced from. They can be found on SKY channels 652 and 656 and the website address it gemstv.co.uk. Seriously if you like your jewellary, check them out.
Anyone who has digital television will have seen at some point or another a shopping channel, basically gems tv is a shopping channel that sells just jewelery. It is on channel 642, 646 and 660 on sky, channel755 and 756 on virgin and is on channel 43 on freeview, if you like jewelery then this is definately worth having a look at as they have some fantastic pieces of jewelery on there and you get given a lot of information about the piece by the presenters who i have to say are actually quite entertaining to watch at times, they will let you know where each piece has come from, what it is made of and how. All of the items start off at a ridiculously high price picked at random, on the side of the screen you can see how many items are left and the price, as time goes on the price will be constantly dropping as will the quantity of items, once the price has droped to a price you are willing to pay you need to phone the number on the screen to there call center where a very helpful customer advisor will take your details, the price may continue to drop but dont worry all who phone will pay the lowest price it drops to no matter how much it was when they phoned. You need to pay by a debit or credit card and have 2 weeks to send the item back if you dont like it. This is a great place to pick up a bargain, they have a lot of odd sizes of rings so is great if like me you are a strange size. I have had some lovely pieces off here
to be honest I became addicted to this channel & well over-bought! lovely jewellery & have sent very little back - got quick refund. presenters fun & friendly - great personalities & good quick auctions which can mean hours watching without realising I am aware tho' of which countries I buy the gems tv gems from (political/ethical reasons) I'm now finding the designs a little 'samey' & wish the rings came in different sizes as re-sizing is such a pain if u want to wera something 4 a special occasion friendly callcentre staff seem really pleased to help & answer any questions as soon as possible - it's great as well in that they only charge 1 p&p for all items purchased in 1 day - wish all shopping channels did that! PLEASE don't fall into my trap & overspend - the items can all add up! I would recommend watching this channel
ARGH!! How addictive is this channel!! My mum and I flick through the channels, this appears and two hours later its still on. I haven't actually bought anything from it but I love watching all the pretty things and wishing I had more money to spend on them. Rather depressing isn't it? On a serious note though, it is a brilliant tv channel and very intriguing. I find the 'look' of it more attractive than other channels that aim to do the same thing and I think its because of its simplistic appearance and it comes across as rather classy. My mum has bought a diamond ring off Gems TV before and said she couldn't believe how little she paid for it compared to how much it would have cost her in a shop. All in all, very good quality channel but beware - its highly addictive! Just hide the credit card!
I'm a woman and I like nice things. You may not think it but, yes I am a girly girl at heart and like to look nice. The only downside to this is that everything costs money and sometimes in order to look nice and have nice things, a lot of money has to be spent. Well, I found this TV channel and website purely by accident. We were staying with my mother-in-law last year for a few days and she regularly buys from this channel and switched the TV over so I could watch. Well now I am addicted and will regularly watch and have to say that I can now have nice jewellery at affordable prices! Part of the problem sorted! (Now how to get the rest of looking good down to cost prices lol). **History** Gems TV is a company that manufactures and sells its own jewellery both on TV and on the internet. They operate their own manufacturing plant in Thailand where all the jewellery is hand-made. They also make sure that the gems used in the jewellery are sourced by themselves from such places as Brazil and India (to name a couple). All the jewellery is designed, manufactured and sold by one company and so this negates the need for the "middle man" and you cannot buy Gems TV jewellery on the high street. **How It Works** Gems TV operates what is called a "reverse auction". What happens is that a "game" will start with an item of jewellery. There can be any number of items from 1 right up to 100 items. A starting price is shown. Now this price is not meant to imply any kind of worth, as they state on the show, and this price drops until all of the items are sold. Everyone pays the final price. I have seen rings start at £800 and end at £20, it depends how quickly things sell. Some of the presenters are quite cheesy and sometimes this makes for quite entertaining viewing but other times, it can be annoying. The "games" are often interspersed with little featurettes on where gems are bought, mined and sourced, and how the jewellery is made. In order to buy, you have to be either registered on the website, or telephone the number at the bottom of the television screen. You are then directed to a telephone operator who will take your details and viola, you have purchased your item of jewellery. Delivery costs £5.95 (regardless of how many items you purchase in one day) and you are given a date for delivery over the telephone. If you purchase from the website, the delivery charges are exactly the same, and you are sent an email advising you of despatch and delivery dates. You can also arrange for the item to be delivered to a different address if you like (as long as it is on the UK mainland there is no problem). Items are sent in a plain cardboard presentation box (better ones can be purchased if you like) and are supplied with a certificate of authenticity, giving all the details of the item. All ladies rings are supplied in size N (gents in a size T), along with a ring sizer and details of a company that you can send your ring to, in order to have it re-sized. Or you can take it along to your own local jeweller if you like. **Where To Find Them** Gems TV is on Sky channel 646 and Virgin channel 755. Gems TV2 is on Sky Channel 660 and Virgin channel 756. There is also a website for them on www.gemstv.co.uk where you can purchase jewellery and accessories online. You do have to register with them online but if you have bought from the TV channel then you are already on their database. To register is simple, all they need is a username, password and email address. They promise on the website that they will not pass your details on to a third party. **My Experiences** My mother-in-law regularly buys jewellery from them and showed me three of the rings that she had bought most recently. I thought that these rings were absolutely beautiful and so we sat down to watch the tv for a little while to see what all the fuss was about. I had been having some trouble with my engagement, wedding and eternity rings cutting into my finger and saw two rings on the programme (same day different times) that would look lovely as a short-term replacement. My darling hubby decided that he would phone up and buy the rings for me as a little pressie (how kind of him) and I was sat there telling him how much I liked the rings (hint hint). He phoned up and within 5 minutes had purchased the first one (to be delivered to my parent's house within 3 days). Within the hour he had called again to buy the second ring, which was added to our original order. The first call involved giving a delivery address, credit card details, etc, but all was done quickly and efficiently. The second time he called he gave his name and the delivery address and the item was added to our original order. Unfortunately they cannot deliver direct to me as my address is British Forces Post Office so all my deliveries from them are sent to my mum and dad, who are kind enough to send it on to me. For the record, we bought a 9ct white gold band set with 7 small blue sapphires and a 9ct gold ring set with 6 small diamonds and one white princess cut sapphire. We paid £37 for the first ring and £42 for the second, combined with £5.95 postage to give a grand total of £84.95, which was not taken off our card until the order had been despatched. We returned home and 3 days later the rings were delivered to my parents' house by a courier company. My dad opened them for me to check that the right items had been delivered and he was very impressed with the rings. They had been packaged safely and were not damaged in any way due to delivery. Also enclosed was the ring-sizer, a magazine from the company, and a DVD about how the gems are sourced. And the delivery man was exceptionally polite (that comment came from my dad!). My dad duly posted the rings on to me and I got them about a week later. I am now happily wearing my replacement wedding and engagement rings. I have hinted at needing one more to make the set but these pleadings are falling on deaf ears at the moment lol. I have to say that we have bought another 3 dress rings and a pair of earrings as well so hubby is starting to treat me to nice jewellery at affordable prices. I think the most he has spent is about £60 on a ring (and it is some piece of bling!). We got the rings independently valued and the they both came out valued at over £750 so I am now wearing over £1500 worth of jewellery on one finger and we only paid £85 for it! Now that's what I call an investment! The earrings we bought for £20 and these came out valued in the region of £500 so we are very very happy with our purchases. Obviously we have had them insured on our house insurance, but this hasn't really affected the premium much, it's only gone up about £10 a year. My next purchase from them is going to have to be a special box for my earrings and another box for all the rings my hubby keeps buying me. Though I am certainly not complaining! Do I recommend the company (on TV and on the website). Yes I would have to say that I do recommend them as I have never had any problems from the company. The staff are exceptionally helpful and polite and never try to "push" other items on to your order. Delivery is always on time, we have never had a problem, and the delivery staff are always really friendly. However, I have only given the company a 4 star rating. Why you may ask? Well, my only problem with them is that they do not delivery to BFPO addresses. Many companies out there have no problems as all BFPO mail is sent to Mill Hill in London. Once it reaches there, the military system takes over. But Gems TV do not deliver to BFPO. This means that there is a huge market out there that they are missing. We are lucky because we can get items delivered to my parents but there are some at BFPO addresses who do not have a UK address that they can use and they therefore cannot buy anything from Gems TV. It is a shame because the market for them is huge and they are really missing out. I do hope that someone from Gems TV reads this review and that the company gets the wheels in motion to rectify this as I know of a lot of people who would love to buy from them but are restricted because of where they live. But my final word has to be that I am 100% satisfied with the service I have received from this company and 150% satisfied with the products that I have purchased from them, and I will definitely be going back and buying some more. As a footnote, Gems TV has recently started trading in Germany and the United States, so the company is certainly "on the up"! And we bought 2 alexandrite rings on the channel. Alexandrite is a gemstone that you cannot buy in the shops as it is so rare. I priced the weight of the stones in one ring and the price came up as almost $4000! Now that cannot be bad for a ring that cost £45! A pretty decent investment there as well! Thank you for reading this. Di xx
