Honestly, how could I not resist reviewing this insipid channel? This isn't a political or religious comment, but more a remark of how, whether you're religious or not (I am not), this is just a terrible, tasteless, thoroughly tacky channel that can't be doing the name of God any favours.

I do not know religious scripture, but is this really what God meant when he asked man to propagate the word of God? Televangelism is incredibly cheap and tacky, and surely dillutes the meaning of spreading the more positive aspects of religion, if it is transmitted over a TV rather than in a real, human, personal environment like a church. That said, the channel does make for a brilliant dose of unintentional comedy if you're prepared to actually sit through it. In fact, I imagine you could devise quite a brilliant drinking game to it if you were so inclined.

The virulent priests and McPreachers are the real highlight, especially when they bring up a guest to be "healed" by his "powers". Cue the "Priest" look as though he's about to have some sort of conniption fit before spouting a wealth of virtually incomprehensible garb, while the adulating crowd cheer and rhythmically chant "Praise the Lord!". I have to say quite seriously that I find their adulation of the PRIEST more than their Lord quite disturbing, and surely this falls under the precept of a false idol, does it not?

If you can stave off being offended by its sheer decadence long enough, it is actually quite an entertaining channel, but as a fair depiction of Christianity it is very difficult to take seriously. Surely even staunch Christians must realise that this is a very distasteful, often hateful, and none-too flattering depiction of your beloved religion?
