Advantages: All round programming

Listen, I know that it's not the most intellectual channel, but at least we are not forced to pay through the nose to receive it (a la BBC). ITV has a wide range of programming, from news through to comedy, drama and soaps through to films. There's a bit of everything here. You get the odd bit of sport here and there too, for example snooker, although I'm not at all interested in sport so I wouldn't watch it but there really is something for everyone.

What I like best about ITV is that they show Emmerdale and Corronation Street - the two BEST soaps on television. A few years back you would also get some really funny sitcoms shown but in recent years I think the best comedy has come out of the BBC stables (surprisingly).

Apart from this, there is the occasional entertainment program (variety, they used to call it) documentaries "Women Who Kill", one off comedy / dramas and of course there is a little children's programming here too.

A good all round TV channel which we are not taxed to watch.

Summary:
