Advantages: Champions league games

Disadvantages: Lot of money for basicaly 1 channel.

By now you must have heard about ITV2.
Its a sort of "B" movie equivalent of ITV.
Sure it has several of the programmes we get to see on ITV appearing on it along with repeats of older shows, but it does not warrant spending out on a whole new system does it?
Sky Digital are by far, the market leader.
On Digital (Now ITV Digital) is the only way to receive this channel.
Whereas Sky offer its channels to ITV Digital, the same is not very forthcoming the other way around.
This is because we all know what would happen if we could get ITV digital through our Sky box dont we?
No one would by their ITV Digital Set top boxes.
I believe you can get it through cable but that is not very useful if you do not have cable in your area.
The reception for the set top boxes is useless anyway.

So how do they attract users to their service?

Firstly, they plaster the actual terrestrial ITV Channel with adverts. They have tried to be trendy and rename ITV to ITV1 and bring it inline with its new channel but that wont work.

Secondly, they advertise it with a cool little monkey and a simpleton owner.
These adverts are quite good but they dont make me buy ITV2.

They claim to have so many new programmes on ITV2 but im yet to see any of them.
It just seems to be repeats.

the only thing remotely interesting on ITV2 are the extra Champions League Football games that you dont get on the terrestrial channel.

I see that they had things like Survivor on there when it was on air. Trying to get the addicts to switch over.
It did not work as the programme was a flop anyway.
In fact, it just seems to be a home to reruns of old soaps now.
Sometimes there is boxing or the occasional bit of sport to watch but it does not quantify the price tag.

If you want to spend out on digital, spend the same amount of money and get about 20 times the amount of channels by buying Sky.
