ITV 4

Newest Review: ... extra, and all the other sports channels. But with freeview, you occasionally get the odd match on BBC 1 or 2 or ITV 1, but ITV 4 seems to regularly show the lower league matches and early cup games, which are sometimes more interesting than premiership matches or finals. ITV 4 sometimes shows the odd movie as well, most likely a western or something old, one you had never seen before. Overall though, ITV 4 is a bit boring. I would rather watch Dave any day unless there is footy on the telly. There are hardly any shows or series on ever and when they are you never know because you havnt watched ITV 4 enough to see them advertised.... more

Premium Review ITV 4: Football and not much other than westerns (197 words)
by - written on 11/11/09 (Somewhat useful, 6 readings)
Rating:

ITV 4 is one of the lesser watched channels on TV. This may well be because it shows a number of shows that are not very popular. However, ITV 4 does allow you to watch live football, such as the FA cup draws, which otherwise you wouldnt have a clue about. In fact, ITV 4 is quickly becoming one of the few left to regularly show football on Freeview. If you have Sky, then this shouldnt be a problem, what with sky sports, sky sports extra, and all the other sports channels. But with freeview, you occasionally get the odd match on BBC 1 or 2 or ITV 1, but ITV 4 seems to regularly show the lower league matches and early cup games, which are sometimes more interesting than ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Excuse me, could you show me some less popular programmes, p ... (346 words)

Well, ITV 4 doesn't seem to be the most popular channel, really. Pushed firmly into the background by the more mainstream programmes shown on the other ITV channels, it usually features a rather random mixture of programmes that for some reason don't work together very well. Other channels, such as BBC Three, have a quirky mix of shows, a mixture of documentaries and entertainment and drama, that works well as it carefully pinpoints the target audience. However, ITV 4 randomly has a few dramas such as Minder or The Champions early evening, or they'll have a Batman cartoon at 4 in the morning. Some nights, they'll have a decent film on. Tonight, they ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review ITV 4: Rubbish, pretty bland and as innovative as a pebble (246 words)
by - written on 06/06/09 (Very useful, 28 readings)

I have to say even on Freeview this channel isn't worth much, the only use it has is in showing Champions League football when ITV show the main match. ITV4 seems to be a mish mash of old detective series from both sides of the atlantic, celebrity based quiz shows and reality television, it shows trash like Katie and Peter, rubbish starring Keith Lemon and the odd film which always seem to star Steven Seagal, it is not a good channel at all i'm not sure what its point is, it does nothing new, any comedy is derivative or weak and cheap, any drama is imported or simply a really old repeat and the reality tv is rubbish too. At least BBC3 and 4 have something of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review An imposter of a channel (506 words)
by - written on 07/01/08 (Very useful, 84 readings)
Rating:

ITV 4 is one of the extra commercial television channels that is available on freeview, cable and satellite. It can be found on channel 28 on Freeview and along with ITV 3 and ITV 2 runs many of the programmes shown on ITV. Unlike ITV2 and ITV3 it does not usually show all the repeats of Emmerdale and Coronation Street but rarely, if ever, shows any new programmes. ITV is also available on Virgin Media channel 15/22; Sky channel 120 and Tiscali channel 29. You can also catch it on Cable on Channel 117, Satellite on Channel 12 and free online at itv.com. So as you can see it is fairly easy to access. The main programmes tend to be dramas and the more unusual ...  Read the complete review

Good US Programming, Well Scheduled, Decent Primetime Entertainment Sometimes puts The Shield on far too late

Some decent American comedies. Repeats, Repeats, REPEATS!

The recent relaunch has shaken things up a bit and schedules are less-filed with dross. Constant repeats can get tiresome and the same Family Guy episodes can be shown 4 times a week!

Great films, alot of choice does cost a bit though

Some great movies None
