Advantages: ANTM, talk shows, easygoing entertainment

Disadvantages: Not exactly 'deep', too many commercials

WHAT IS IT:
Living TV is a Virgin Media channel on Sky channel 112. There is a plus one channel on 113 and Living 2 on 114. It features a range of entertainment programmes including comedy reruns, reality shows, US dramas and talk shows. Its current line-up includes a documentary following Jade Goody, America's Next Top Model and Gray's Anatomy.

GOOD POINTS:
If you are into celebrity gossip and talk shows this is the channel for you. It often has programmes about skinny celebrities and has the kind of follow-around celeb documentaries that Heat readers will love. It also has a number of outrageous American talk shows such as Maury and The Steve Wilkos show which are quite fun to watch. I absolutely love America's Next Top Model and the current cycle is now showing on Monday nights. Living TV is also good at giving you a chance of catching up on shows you have missed as many programmes a repeated once or twice during the week. Despite being a sceptic, I really enjoy watching some of the psychic/medium shows such as 6ixth Sense with Colin Fry and Beyond with James Van Praagh as you get to learn the methods they use to convince the audience that they are making contact with lost loved ones. There are usually reruns of Will &Grace in the evening which makes good teatime viewing. I'd say it was a channel aimed more at women than at men but it has some really enjoyable light-hearted viewing in its schedule.

BAD POINTS:
It is mostly trashy stuff and I would imagine many people would dislike it for this reason. I don't really watch any of the celebrity documentary shows as they don't really interest me very much. It can get pretty samey as many of the programmes follow the same format. There is a lot of advertising on it and sometimes this can be quite disruptive when you are trying to watch something. Also, there are quite a lot of repeats so you may not always be able to find something new to watch.

Summary: Good for background watching and guilty pleasure TV

I used to watch this channel a lot but the psychic stuff was a complete turn-off for me. They still do show some class trash however - like Pop Goes the Band ;-)
