MTV2 is well known as the channel whereupon, music is played that wouldnt be shown on the likes of MTV or The Box.....this seems pretty stupid to me. I mean most of the stuff they play is on all the other channels anyway, and they don't focus enough on the smaller band, just the big ones. They are to focused on what the trendies want to see, rather then what they feel they should play. Sure, listening to what people want is cool, but playing the new Limp Bizkit video on every programme on air, isn't going to get you that many viewers, now is it? They need to go out their and find smaller bands to focus on, and make a lot bigger. I can bet you that many people in small bands actually watch MTV2, making them bands more well known, and getting the channel more credit for their achievements. I know that right now, Kerrang! is a better channel to watch because they have all the good bands, and not just what is "in". This is becoming a big problem for MTV2. Still don't believe me?? ok then, i will give you an example.

The most well known programme on MTV2 is probably 'Alternative Music Television'. They feel the need to play lots of "popular" music on this programme. The New Linkin Park video has been played non-stop, not to mention a "Classic" in 'Rollin'. Where are bands like SUBVERT ( A Norwich band) or smaller bands like that....they are getting NO coverage. They are the new wave of music, and yet the people at MTV2 still insist on ignoring them. I know that if they filmed some footage of a band live, for a song, and set up an hour for the "smaller" bands, then they would get the attention that they deserve. They aren't getting what the ydeserve for all their hard work, and touring they do!!

Of course, there is SOME good bits to MTV2 that wouldn't arise on Kerrang! Tv. They are the OLD videos. Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, and other such classic bands are getting lots of play,
especially old videos. They are mostly played by fans in 'Viewers Choose' but every now and again they will get a little bit on 'AMT', which is a good thing. Also the 'Most Wanted Chart' is a good addition more recently (like in the last 6-8 months), because it shows what is being picked a lot by the viewers, and it tells you, that if a band isn't on their, that they aren't doing to well. Of course most of the bands on teh 'MWC' are popular ones, but not all of them. Bands like Seafood, Refused and System Of A Down are getting on their, along with the likes of Slipknot and Linkin Park. ANd of course they have helped some bands. They played Movies' by Alien Ant Farm to help that get noticed, quite a lot. But they aren't doing what they should be in helping hte small people instead of putting more money into Fred Durst and co's pockets.

(oh yeah, and the yhave 'The Riot' and 'Brand New' which help to find out the newest info on bands AND see new music videos, before other channels......)

It seems that System of a Down may be on the verge of become mainstream, probably to your horror. 'Chop Suey' is even being played on Radio 1 at the moment.

The new Linkin Park video has been played just as much on Kerrang though.

Great op, MTV2 is my favourate out of the music channels available, with Q and Kerrang both second.
