MTV 2 great to be true! (MTV 2)

Advantages: Great music, No addies, NO POP

Disadvantages: some heavy stuff

Now then, MTV 2 well i can safely say this is the best music channel arounf, for me and alot of people i know anyway. It is a cahnnel which firmly concentrates on rock and alternative. Which is a nice thing, given the number of variations of rock out there. This mans that you don't just get the same old crappy pop music that the youth's of today love. You get interesting music which consist of some old songs and some new ones. There is always a nice mix, so okay it may have some stuff people don't like, for example i don't like 'heavy', 'gothic', music, you know like 'slipknot', 'maralyn manson', 'cradle of filth' and so on. But some people like this music, which is good because MTV2 caters for all. I am a guy who likes his Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene, Coldplay, Blur and so on.

I don't like channels like MTV, MTV extra, MTV base, SMASH HITS and so on. This is because i am not a fan of 'Britney spear' although she is a nice girl, ya know i just don't like pop music. Its not my scene, but the pop channels out there cater for that soprt of thing, they are good channels if you like that kind of thing. MTV2 is basically just MTV but it doesn't show the pop music of MTV, and it doesn't have the adverts for thigns other than the station that some channels have, oh no it just has rock all day long.

MTV2 is a very well presented station with some great effects and some weird addies for the channel itself. Along with some excellent shows, like MTV2 live, whch features some great live perfromances from some excellent bands. It always has something for everyone, even if you only like pop, there will be a rock songs that is quite popular at the time which will be on, but be warned theres no Britney here. just greenday, oasis, the guns and roses, and many other great rock bands from past and present.

Now there are other channel which give MTV2 a run for its money, VH1 is a ve
ry popular channel for the oldies out there, but it still sometime has a load of crap on it too, like all of that digitized pop music that only little kids or stupid girls like. VH1 classic, now this is a good channel which has smooth music during the day and rock during the night. This is good when Bob Marley comes on, or oasis or something to that effect, but it still has some utter poo, like ABBA, and some other crappy olden pop songs that really get up my nose.

Now Q and Kerrang well they are good channels, although Q has some pop music, it does have alot of good stuff on there too, like radiohead, travis, oasis and many more. But its a station where you have to pay to see good stuff, or they just play a crappy plalist with the same old songs on if no one phones in. It gets quite annoying, its the same with Kerrang, and plus Kerrang has alot of heavy stuff which i am not really into. But you still get some good stuff, but you still also get the crappy play list oif no on phones in. And with MTV2 you don't just get videos, it sometime has some nice stuff about bands. There is a nice thing called 'Artist choose' this is were artists choose some of their favorurite vids and they get played, this is nice to see what the actual artist like and what they are inspired by!

All in all MTV2 is an excellent station thats makes for some excellent viewing! :)
