Advantages: Alternative music

Disadvantages: Repetative

On sky digital there are about 10 or 11 music channels and only 2 of them are really alternative MTV2 and Kerrang, and possibly Q. But the channel i personally prefer is MTV2 as it plays a nice range of nu-metal, punk, indie and rock 'n' roll. This channel is on 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

There are many features of the channel like MTV rock, most wanted chart, live bands, riot etc etc. I do tend to watch the most wanted chart most days, and watch MTV rocks in between programs, and i must say they play a good range of songs which keeps me watching and miss some of my programs.

there are very few problems with MTV2 one is that it just plays the same songs over and over again and occasionaly has new videos of bands who have just sprung up over night, who i have never heard of, usually nu-metal bands. Another promblem is that the songs it plays over and over again are crappy main steam bands like Nikleback and Muddle of Pud(i did that spelling mistake deliberately), who you can watch on MTV hits. It plays some great songs very rarly like Less Than Jake-all my best friends are metal heads and Goldfinger-Lonely place which i have only seen once since i have had the channel(about a year ago).

I miss the good old days when they had and hour indie (even though i'm not a big fan of indie), and alternative hour but it's all changed to MTV rocks, which is still great and i'm not complaining, Joe (The Third Man) just said it's got to Mosherish which i do agree on as it's just keeping the 12 year old contemparary moshers happy.

The riot is another feature of MTV2 which is on about 3 times a week(usually just repeats), which has new songs and interviews from the latest bands. This is well worth watching but only once. This problem with this it's repeated all the time and always has slipknot on(even though i like slipknot) again to keep the 12 years happy.

But overall there is very little alter
native channel apart from Kerrang and sometimes Q to choose from so i will listen to the same songs over and over again because of the lack of choice as it's either MTV2 or Kerrang(Kerrang is even worst for repeating songs).

It still my favourite music channel.

Rory

One more thing MTV2 never use to have adverts but there are now which has pissed me off.

continuing the little coversation we had in english (in know this isn't strictly allowed buts it relevent) MTV Bass is usually pretty damn awful but does feature the occasional hour of decent hip hop. Once, i don't know what happened but the played Oasis-Go Let It Out. I found this hillarious. Thousands of rnb watches across the country must have checked their tuning.
Dance is cool but i agree that garage is pretty awful.

I agree with you about Q GodToldMeto, it's gone all weird now and plays crap all the time. I've heard of MTV Bass, it has to be the most crappest channel on the whole of Sky Digital. I HATE garage and dance music, it's all crap. Did you seriously ask them to remove it?! We should start a campaign!!

Q was cool but it went the other way. Rather than compete with Kerrang in the metal market it moved into RnB, has anyone even heard of MTV Bass? I rang the people at sky and asked them to remove it. Damn answer machines, don't talk back. Why Q? Why!!! Ah well, it wasn't the best anyway.
