Advantages: Entertaining shows, broadcasts American shows.

Disadvantages: No music videos and few programmes related to music

Addictive as this channel is to watch, it's fallen away from what it first set out to do. MTV stands for 'music television' and you would therefore think that its primary intention is to play music videos and be a channel dedicated the art of music. This is certainly what it originally did. Music giants like the recently departed Michael Jackson owe much to this channel promoting their music videos and thus their music. But it is rare that you even catch a show that is musically related now. Sure the programmes that the channel does show: 'The hills', 'Run's house' etc are entertaining and frustratingly addictive but they have nothing to do with music. It's a great channel to watch if you're bored because the likelihood is that you'll find an entertaining programme to pass the time away. It's just that if you're searching music, you'll be massively disappointed. There is none.

Summary: A large disappointment to those in search of music, to those who are not, it's worth a watch
