North American Sports Network

The introduction of NASN last year suggested that followers of American sports were to be treated to a far more extensive coverage than was being provided by Sky Sports or Five.
While the premise of appealing to the devotees of American sports would seem to provide an ideal ?niche? advertising market for subsidising this channel and thus reducing the very high subscription fees, is, in fact, a feed from the US networks and promotes very little subscriber loyalty.
The greatest failing of this broadcaster is in not promoting the cult status of American sports.
It is very rare to use Five as a benchmark however the rapport presenters maintain with their viewers should be taken on board by NASN.
Breaks between innings are filled by (out of date) infomercials promoting sport reports.
In the case of rain delays, which often happens with live transmissions even in the US, with no live linkman the viewer is often left frustrated at the opinionated, loud and, from a British point of view often incomprehensible, sport talk shows which have apparently been dredged from the archives.
The above could all be acceptable were it not for the continual membership drives. When one has subscribed to such enthralling sports as Major League Soccer and Canadian Football (sic) over the winter only to find constant free views and two months free to new subscribers with the start of the MLB season, leads one to believe that only new subscribers are of value and that the loyalty of existing subscribers is of no worth.
To summarise:
Overpriced
Lack of marketing to bring advertisers on board and thus reduce cost of subscriptions
Impersonal presentation
Too many repeats and showing of low profile sports.

In closing, should NASN address the above, I would have no hesitation in resubscribing if only for the MLB

My hubby subscribes to this, mainly for coverage of the Stanley cup. I don't really watch it so I don't know what it's like but he's never had any complaints!
