National Geographic Channel ... National Geographic Society. It features some programming similar to that on the Discovery Channel such as nature, science, and history documentaries.

Newest Review: ... At its best, this channel showcases some truly phenomenal documentaries about nature. We often don't realize, but these docs are the work of years and years of work, and to watch them is to benefit from someone else's hard work. Visually, they are stunning. All the areas of the world, along with all animals are covered, and it's like being there yourself. When you compare this to the ... more

Premium Review National Geographic Channel: Inter(national) Geographic (339 words)

National Geographic, to me, means piles of old magazines with yellow bordered covers. They littered my uncle's house, and he was a hunter. Think Nat Geo, and you're thinking animals and pretty photos, but what about the TV channel? Nat Geo is a subscription channel that contains non-fiction documentaries non-stop. Whilst you may think they would all be about animals, they also cover science, culture and history. At its best, this channel showcases some truly phenomenal documentaries about nature. We often don't realize, but these docs are the work of years and years of work, and to watch them is to benefit from someone else's hard work. Visually, ...  Read the complete review

National Geographic is to be commended for the high quality of its programming on this channel. Rarely are nature programmes of this quality seen outside the BBC, but the bulk of this channel's programming is certainly not the low budget, quasi-amateur footage that we've come to expect elsewhere. There's a good variety of subject matter too, certainly not all of it appeals to me, but perhaps that's just as well or I'd never leave the TV. I'm not sure why it's available for so few hours each day (perhaps lack of advertising?), and certainly wish they'd extend their broadcast time. My main crticism is on the emphasis so many of their ...  Read the complete review

Dont you just love Sky digital!? We used to have Sky (just the ordinary version) a few years back, we then moved, and my parents left the dish at our old house....so ive had to live without Sky for years now! That was until a few months back, when FINALLY I had persuaded them that Sky Digital would be really good, and it would really help with my college work! (Well it was worth a try, I was getting desperate!) I am so glad we have got it now. Im addicted to National Geo, Discovery, BBC Knowledge, Einstein.tv ....thats to name just a select few!! It was only last Friday that I was watching National Geo, when a programme, premier for ...  Read the complete review

I never watched this channel until I was flicking past a programme on the National Geographical Channel, it was called ‘India Diaries’ it had the brother of Camilla Parker Bowles- Mark Shand who with a Indian friend set off on an amazing journey across India. It’s an excellent insight into India, full of humour and adventure. When they go through the safari and are being chased by elephants. It’s just a magnificent journey, which you can tell they are enjoying. I really like watching this programme, it gives excellent insight into the Indian culture, they go to forests and the tea gardens of North Bengal. It’s a ...  Read the complete review

National Geographic is another educational channel, available when you buy the sky-multi pack. It is a real eye-opener of a channel, especaially if you interested in the geography of the world. I, used to watch this a lot when i was at school, it has some really goood natural disaster documentaries, which are quite fascinating. I, also like this channel because most of the things they are show are factual, so you can watch and learn. If you have it, then you should watch it, especially if you have kids, it will help them understand the make-up of the world better. ...  Read the complete review
