Nick Jr.Newest Review: ... what is offered without having to pay for Sky. There are no presenters like other childrens tv channels and instead each programme is introduced by a mouse. I kind of prefer the non presenter approach as they often annoy me and I find that my little ones are never really interested in a grown man parading around in silly costumes just to introduce a tv show. So I personally think that the ... more More other TV channels

Nick Jr is my childrens favourite TV Channel. It features a wide array of childrens tv programming and all the popular programmes such as Peppa Pig, Fifi and Dora the Explorer to name a few. It can be found on Sky Digital on channel 615 and their is also a Nick Jr 2 offering the same programmes at different times on channel 620. The programmes start at 6am which is great for me as my son is often up at this time so it keeps him occupied in the morning whilst I try to wake myself up properly. In addition to the two channels mentioned, it can also be found between the hours of 7am and 9am on TMF which is available on Freeview so this gives ... Read the complete review

Nick Jnr is my 20 month old granddaughter's favourite channel because it shows all her favourite programmes; Lazy Town, Go Diego Go, Backyardigans, Dora and Peppa Pig are all big favourites so it's good to find these all on one channel and spaced nicely throughout the day so that I don't find we're sitting in front of kids programmes all day when she visits. It's such a sweet, darling channel. The majority of the programmes are cartoons and animations but there are a few featuring 'real people' and also throughout the day there are short songs and features with pre-school children starring in them which really hold my granddaughters attention as she doesn't ... A few months ago i wrote a review on how my two daughters loved the Television channel Cbeebies, but times change and they have now developed a liking for Nick jnr because two of their favorite programmes are broadcast on here- Dora the explorer and Peppa pig. I of course limit the amount of TV they watch in a day, but whenever they have their TV it now always seems to be Nick Jnr that they want to watch. For those of you who are not familiar with the Television, it is a spin off channel from the main channel Nickelodeon which has been running since the 90's and has had many famous programme's like the 'Rugrats' ' Sabrina the teenage witch' and so on. Many television viewers will already be familiar with Nickelodeon, the children's channel from the early 90's and still going strong. Well, for the past several years, they have spawned off several offshoots, aimed at different parts of the child market, including Nick Jr. Nick Jr is aimed at pre-schoolers and those in reception year. Like Cbeebies, it features edutainment type programming (mostly) so that children can learn while being entertained viewing the characters' adventures. Like Cbeebies, it is available on cable, satellite, as well as Freeview. Unlike Cbeebies, they do not have live presenters, but they do have two earth worm and two monkey puppets ... Isn’t it funny how you just get used to one behaviour and children suddenly change their mind and move on to something else? Beth was always a Playhouse Disney girl up until she was about 2 years old then all of a sudden we ended up watching far more Nick Jr. Nick Jr is the specially made for toddlers telly channel from Nickelodeon. I would say it is just about perfect for children between the ages of two and six. There is a good mix of programming and it is the same 7 days a week (except for very occasional all day of one programme specials) and this is only ever changed a programme every so often so you never get a whole line up change in one day.
