Nickelodeon ... primarily for children and pre-teens, but also features shows aimed toward teenagers in TEENick. Nickelodeon was launched April 1, 1979 as the Pinwheel channel in Columbus, Ohio. The Nick at Nite programming block began in July 1985 on Nickelodeon from prime time to early morning; originally the channel went dark after 8pm Eastern, although many cable operators substituted other channels at night, such as A&E (which shared a satellite transponder with Nickelodeon prior to 1985) or C-SPAN. The early lineups featured such black and white classics as The Donna Reed Show, Mr. Ed, Car 54, Where Are You?, My Three Sons, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Route 66, as well as Mad Movies with the LA Connection and Nickelodeon's Turkey Television on weekends. More recent programming included various sitcoms from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s such as The Cosby Show, Roseanne, Full House, A Different World, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and Growing Pains. Nick at Nite has also produced original programming such as Fatherhood (an animated show based on the book by Bill Cosby), Search for the Funniest Mom in America, and Hi-Jinks (a Punk'd-like series where parents play practical jokes on their children). This block is known as Nick Comedy on Nickelodeon Germany. In the mid-to-late-1990s, shows like I Love Lucy, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Brady Bunch, Happy Days, and other shows that are now on TV Land were aired on Nick at Nite. Generally speaking, Nick at Nite's programming has moved forward with the times, while still broadcasting shows at least ten to twenty years old. In 1996, Nick at Nite spun off the channel TV Land, which currently airs a variety of older shows, primarily sitcoms from 1951 to 1992.

Newest Review: ... heard of most of these shows, but I like Sabrina and Zoey 101. The only cartoon i've seen on this channel is Spongebob Squarepants. The other shows are just like american comedies. The odd thing I found about this channel is with other kids tv channels, the adverts seem to be for toys, cereal and just kids products. The majority of adverts on this channel seem to be for insurance, cars, and ... more

Although I am an adult, I sometimes go through the Kids channels, as to me it is mindless tv entertainment, and also perhaps it takes me back to my younger days when it was all cartoons, no bills, and you know, just a easier life! Nickelodeon is on Sky channel 604 and often just known as Nick. The channel is on everyday from 5am-11pm. It's hard to say whick age group this channel is for. I would say up to 12 year old, but I may be way wrong. So what programmes will you find on this channel? Things like Sabrina the Teenage Witch Zoey 101 Icarly Spongebob Squarepants Drake and Josh The Amanda Show Genie In The ...

Nickelodeon is a great childrens tv channel that provides some great shows that are mostly aimed at the 5-11 year olds. It features cartoons and fun kids teenage sort of shows. Some of the shows that are broadcast include: Fairly Odd Parents A cartoon starring Cosmo and Wanda, two fairy god parents who help a child called Timmy and protect him from the bullys and his mean baby sitter, its a great wee show when you get in to it some times and a really light hearted and funny cartoon. iCarly This show is about a girl called Carly and her friend, they go to school, do normal kids sort of things and also broadcast a hit webshow on ...

Nickelodeon is an American based television channel available on Sky Digital in the UK and primarily aimed at teenagers. I have never experienced any problems with the channel in general, it does not have particularly long advertising breaks, and I find the quality of the picture and the low number of technical difficulties make it quite a good channel. I thought I'd devote this review to briefly discussing some of my favourite shows on Nickelodeon. The following are not really in any particular order. 1. Sponge Bob Square Pants - This American made animated series has taken the world by storm, and I have heard that it is now becoming especially popular in ...
