All teenagers and kids will love tuning into Nickelodeon as the channel brings in some fantastic entertainment. There are so many shows on the channel I can pick out such as My Parents are Aliens, Kenan and Kel and Sabrina the teenage witch to watch on the channel. These shows make watching the channel interesting but there are even more good cartoon shows like Hey Arnold and Spongebob Squarepants.
You have to pay on Sky to watch the channel as it comes with the entertainment pack. I loved watching the shows on this channel when I was younger but noticed a lot of the classic shows were repeated too much on the show. In 2005 they used to show too much of Sabrina the Teenage witch on the channel there was around 4 episodes every day of the show!
I think kids will love this channel and especially teens as all the shows normally relate to teenage life. When I watched this channel I used to love watching it all the time. The best programs were Kenan and Kel and Sabrina the Teenage witch.
Those thinking of getting the channel you are making the right choice as good entertainment is always on the show.Sometimes I flick through the channel and end up watching some good show. You just know when you watch Nickelodeon that you are going to watch some fine entertainment on the show.
Nickelodeon has to be one of the best children's channels EVER. I watched it religiously as a kid, and I was well into my mid-teens before I really stopped watching it. Still, the shows had enough of an impact on me that I often watch clips on YouTube, and even bought a few of the DVD boxsets when Nick were gracious enough to release them.
There's a huge variety of programming that is aimed more at the 8-15 range rather than the youngest toddlers. The shows are often about growing up, dealing with issues such as surviving in school, and friendship. They generally offer very good messages for kids, wrapping this in an entertaining story that adults also won't mind sitting through. Here are my favourites:
Rugrats = perhaps the seminal kid's cartoon of the 1990s, Rugrats was a shockingly intelligent examination of how children view the world, with each episode having a message about getting on with your peers. It was also a very useful tool to educate kids about Judaism, given the disposition of the show's protagonist.
Sabrina the Teenage Witch = an odd show about a young witch who attempts to juggle that with her high school experience. The show, with its references to Republicanism and Altamont, is really written TOO smart or the target audience, but it was good fun, even if Nick really did run it into the ground with their infamous Sabrina September.
Kenan and Kel = fits firmly into the "so bad it's good" canon of Nick's programming: this show is absolutely, irredeemably stupid, but it has earned itself a sort of reflexive fanbase of students like me who like to watch it drunk with friends. The characters are loud and hilariously silly.
The Adventures of Pete and Pete = simply the most intelligent and independent-minded kid's TV show I have ever seen. This is Nick's best show, but sadly not many have heard of it. It had realistic characters and a very quirky sense of humour, while dealing with childhood issues in a very clever and emotionally resonant way. It also had tonnes of cameos from people like Iggy Pop, Steve Buscemi and REM's Michael Stipe!
I can't imagine growing up without Nick; it was such an amazing channel!
Out of all the children channels available i believe that this is one of the best two. The other being the Disney channel. It is also known as Nick.
There are a wide range of TV shows including Drake and Josh, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Spongebob Squarepants, Naked Brothers Band, iCarly and Zoey 101.
I wouldnt say all of the programmes are highly amazing, but the majority are. My personal favourite is Drake and Josh which is about two step brothers and there sister Megan always causing trouble in various places. It is very funny.
The other good thing is that when there are adverts they do not go on for very long at all.
Nickelodeon is on most packages whether you have Sky, Bt Vision or Freeview but i would check with the company first to make sure.
One programme which is not the best is Iron Man it is quite dull in my opinion and lets down the channel. If i remember correctly i think it is on at about 6 or 7 on fridays. So dont plan to watch nick on friday evenings!
It all depends on your taste but they are mine!
Although I am an adult, I sometimes go through the Kids channels, as to me it is mindless tv entertainment, and also perhaps it takes me back to my younger days when it was all cartoons, no bills, and you know, just a easier life!
Nickelodeon is on Sky channel 604 and often just known as Nick. The channel is on everyday from 5am-11pm. It's hard to say whick age group this channel is for. I would say up to 12 year old, but I may be way wrong. So what programmes will you find on this channel? Things like
Sabrina the Teenage Witch
Drake and Josh
The Amanda Show
Genie In The House
My Parents are Aliens
I've not heard of most of these shows, but I like Sabrina and Zoey 101. The only cartoon i've seen on this channel is Spongebob Squarepants. The other shows are just like american comedies.
The odd thing I found about this channel is with other kids tv channels, the adverts seem to be for toys, cereal and just kids products. The majority of adverts on this channel seem to be for insurance, cars, and cleaning products. Certainly odd in my view.
A good channel, and each episode of the programmes are on in the morning and then repeated in the evening as well.
Nickelodeon is a great childrens tv channel that provides some great shows that are mostly aimed at the 5-11 year olds. It features cartoons and fun kids teenage sort of shows.
Some of the shows that are broadcast include:
Fairly Odd Parents
A cartoon starring Cosmo and Wanda, two fairy god parents who help a child called Timmy and protect him from the bullys and his mean baby sitter, its a great wee show when you get in to it some times and a really light hearted and funny cartoon.
This show is about a girl called Carly and her friend, they go to school, do normal kids sort of things and also broadcast a hit webshow on the internet, thats made by kids for kids. Its also a really good show for the tweenagers.
This show stars Britney Spears sister Jamie Lynn Spears as Zoe, and is another tweeny kind of show where it shows Zoe and her friends in boarding school in a really nice beach type location (not sure exactly where) and there is a group of girls and a group of guys in this show that are constantly pulling pranks on each other, its quite a good show and my little sister seems to adore it.
Nickelodeon's shows run from 6am until 11pm.
I think that this is a great channel as it entertains the kids and tweens and you know that there is no inappropriate viewing on it for your kids, just great fun shows, so you dont have to be worried about what your child is watching.
The only negotive thing about this channel is that it is only available through Sky tv, so you need to subscribe and pay extra than just normal broadcast television.
I am fifteen and i still watch Nickelodeon. The shows are mostly quirky sitcom comedies about teenagers usually surviving school or just trying to be a teenager. Which is perfect for me as i am a teenager and even though they exaggerate the problems there is always a part that you can relate to amongst all the slapstick comedy.
Only thing that ruins nickelodeon is the presenters.
It seems they took the three most annoying people in the world, gave them prozac and a box of random items.
Theres the one with glasses whos blatantly a manic depressive, always making jokes about himself being ugly hiding behind a ridiculously massive grin and lame jokes that even an eight year old (the intended audience) wouldnt find funny. Hes blatantly not enjoying himself and he acts as if nobodys watching the show, at least the old presenters had actual enthusiasm these guys just act all the time.
The annoying skinny blonde guy with an annoying voice who acts like hes crazy and exciting but makes me want to gag him and hit him with that stupid sucker bow and arrow they use to fire at a board.
It never sticks to the board whats the point. Hes so just begging to go over to cbbc like the rest of them.
The girl, obviously only there because its a rule in kids tv show that you have to have at least one of each sex. She acts as if she doesnt really want to act like an idiot, she seems a bit self conscious but she kinda covers it all with a 'woo im fun' attitude like the rest of them.
I know i sound harsh but none of them seem like they want to be there, they act like rejects from the cbbc still moping around because they didnt get the job.
I think i read too much into it but i really wish the old presenters hadnt moved to the cbbc because at least you believed that they were enjoying themselves. Its more obvious that these guys are reading off an auto cue and whats with the big bother? It makes no sense.
If your going to make a big brother spoof then make it at least a bit like big brother. its about a hotel and it doesnt make any sense, and it doesnt even make so much nonsense that its funny its just lame and its got no relevance to big brother at all except they have a diary room.
I realise that nickelodeon isnt intended for a moody teenager but im very immature and childish and i know loads of young people that would probably agree with me.
Just let us watch the shows and get rid of those stupid presenters.
Can i also say, why do they always have to put the show in a tiny box like five minutes at the end and then they make some funny gag talking about whats next but sometimes the show hasnt finished.
I was watching drake and josh once and we were about to find out something interesting and they put it into that tiny box and theres that annoying presenter like "haha im picking my nose arent i hilarious" NO NO NO GO AWAY IM TRYING TO WATCH TV!!!!
I should go watch shows meant for teenagers really...
I used to watch Nick all the time, and I mean all the time. Starting the day off with Rugrats, through Sister Sister, Sabrina, Kenan and Kel and finishing off with Saved by the bell and to me these are the REAL Nick shows.
Turn on the channel today and you will be faced with double episodes of Zoey 101 or Drake and Josh, and to be fair I would rather watch nothing at all, even worse is that the introduction of Nick replay means that you can't escape them or Fairy Odd parents.
The only show that I like that is shown regurally is Spongebob Squarepants...a sponge who lives under the sea and works in a fast food restuarant, what fun!
I think the presenting on the show has also gone downhill. I felt when I was younger that you really knew the presenters but now they just seem like an immature rabble that the producers have pulled off the street.
I think Nick will always appeal to children but back in day it really did have the best shows on TV, even if they were all American and repeated over and over again.
Before i had the advantage of going digital i had to watch my favorite programs on normal tv..... and it was only often shown only one or twice a week. Then i discovered nickelodeon. i now really should not be watching these programs (me being aged 16) but nearly all of the programs on there are very entertaining. my sister whos 11 has been known to watch nickelodeon all day. There is a range of programs shown and nickelodeon must have hold of all the episodes of all the programs they show... its down to nick that i have seen every episode of sabrina. this is because they can only show so many things so you tend to get a lot of repeats which can be quite annoying but it gives you more of a chance to see an episode you've missed Another good thing about nickelodeon is that there is a replay channel which is the same as the normal channel but the programs are shown an hour later .. this is so that you dont miss your favorite programs if you have to nip out somewhere or something. the programs vairy.. there are some old timers that nobody gets bored of like sister sister and sabrina the teenage witch. there are some that have been put away in the dusty store cupboard and only come out in the holidays. or shock horror never again these are programs like raising dad and kenan and kell. to replace the ones they have took off they have added new programs like taina and brothers garcia ...... the presenters are funny and appropriate for the program and they like to involve childeren as they oftern invite them to the studio. this is a brilliant childrens tv channel hopeully it will last a long time yet.
Ok... not many of you may share my views on this, but I certainly think that without Nickelodeon, life would be so much duller. Nickelodeon have been around for some time, previously airing three channels on digitial TV: * Nickelodeon * Nick Replay * Nick Juniors However, recently, they have introduced their best channel yet... NickToons TV!!! NickToons TV airs on digital television from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. For Sky Digital viewers, this channel is on channel 606. What's on this channel then? =============================== I should imagine that from the name of the channel you have already gathered that this channel shows only Nickelodeon cartoons. The cartoons shown on this channel include: 'Hey Arnold!', 'Rugrats', 'SpongeBob Squarepants', 'Real Monsters', 'Angry Beavers', 'The Wild Thornberrys', 'CatDog', 'As Told By Ginger', 'Doug' as well as many others. Are the cartoons any good? =============================== I'm perhaps a bit biased in answering this question, as in general Nickelodeon cartoons tend to be my favourites... so 'yes' they re very good. Many of the cartoons will be familiar to you even if you don't have Sky or digital television as the majority have had episodes shown on terrestrial TV at some point. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of watching any of these cartoons, here's a quick synopsis of what a few of them are about... AS TOLD BY GINGER This cartoon follows the life of Ginger and her friends and family. Ginger and her two best friends Macie and Dodie cope with the trials and tribulations of friendships, growing up, coping with their family and generally experiencing life. Aspiring to be popular like pretty blond school girl Courtney and her best pal Miranda, Ginger and her friends are generally down-to-earth girls who realise that the
ir families and friendship are perhaps the most important things in their life. This cartoon is definitely not just one for the girls however - Ginger's brother Carl and his mate 'Hoodsie' provide constant entertainment throughout the cartoon through their scheming (and often gruesome) plans. 10 out of 10 for this one! HEY ARNOLD! Arnold lives with his grandparents... this doesn't stop him enjoying life though. The cartoon starts Arnold and his friends Gerald, Harold, Eugene, Helga and Phoebe - as well as his Grandma and Granpa. Despite being a cartoon, Hey Arnold often has some serious moments in it and often deals with various social issues, though in a light-hearted way that doesn't detract from the enjoyable-ness of the cartoon. 7 out of 10 for this one! THE WILD THORNBERRY'S Eliza Thornberry and her family travel the globe in a commvee van. Her parents are nature documentary makers. She has a 16-year-old sister, Debbie, with a typical teenage attitude (i.e. would rather be anywhere but 'hanging around with her little sister and her parents'. In addition they look after a boy who was brought up by orangutans, Donnie, and a chimpanzee, Darwin! Whilst Eliza's parents are off making documentaries, Eliza learns about the animal world close up. Eliza has a secret - she can talk to animals! This leads her into various adventures then more often than not end up with her getting into sticky situations! The Wild Thornberry's score 9 out of 10. SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS This is a bit of a surreal cartoon, based around a sponge called SpongeBob, who, suprisingly, wears sqaure pants. Other main characters are Patrick, Squidward and Mr Krabs. The story lines are equally bizarre as the characters and I must admit I've never really got into this cartoon... Only scores 2 out of 10 in my ratings. Who is NickToons TV suitable for? ==================================== <
br>NickToons is suitable for almost any age and any gender. Most of the cartoons are probably aimed at school aged children (approximately 6 and over), though I wouldn't even like to think about putting an upper age limit on the channel! (I'm 22 and spend more time watching cartoon channels than any other!) The beauty of cartoons is that you tend to be able to get something from them no matter what your age - the youngest children enjoy the bright colours and funny looking characters, older children enjoy the story lines and the young at heart enjoy the quick jokes and one-liners that have been dropped in by cartoon makers that go over the heads of younger children. ==================================== I think I've perhaps been rabitting on a little bit now, so I'll conclude by telling you that all the cartoons are shown in half hour blocks (this tends to incorporate two episodes of most of the cartoons). Between each episode there are advertisements that are generally aimed at children (sweets, toys, breakfast cereal, children's films, days out, computer games etc). I'm unsure of the exact cost of this channel - however, if you already have a package which includes the other Nickelodeon channels it is very likely you will have this added automatically for free. To this day I still do not understand, why does Nickelodeon repeatedly pound out garbage shows monthly instead of going back to their classics? Shows like Salute Your Shorts, Pete and Pete, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Nick Arcade, and Ren & Stimpy are infinitely better than most of Nick's newer shows. Watching Nickelodeon since oh say, 1990, I know Nick inside and out, until now. Their selection of programming has pushed me away from watching their network, and it would take a lot to get me back. Nick does not realize how many old fans are clamoring for their old shows, even to this day. I read message boards everywhere, even Nick un-exclusive ones and all they do is complain how awful the programs now are, and wanting the old shows back. I turned on Nick the other day and saw All That. This show has made me laugh on several occasions so I thought why not, it's better than nothing. I was speechless. Instead of seeing that classic All That show with memorable cast members such as Kel, Amanda, and Josh, I saw kids maybe 5 years younger than me. The acts were unexplainable. I saw a one where some girl looked out of the window and saw a fat man rubbing his stomach for two minutes. Okaaay....needless to say that may be the last time I ever watch Nick again. Nick does have it's bright sides on it's current lineup (If they're still there the last time I saw it). If I'm not going to list one of your favorite shows, it was either complete rubbish *coughSPONGEBOBcough* or I don't remember it. Rocko's Modern Life - 80% This show aired for several years and was a fixture in Nick's lineup until recently. Some things grossed me out and depressed me whenever I watched it, other things were pure genius. By far my favorite episode was the one where Rocko made a TV show where they aired a jar of mayonaise for 30 minutes. Now if that were to appear on actual TV, I would have laughed my head off. All That - 65% For the most part, the acts were pretty corny. I'm not even going to mention the "NEW" All That because that would plummet the score down to 0%. Every now and then though, there would be an act where I could laugh at until my sides hurt. This show is like a kid version of SNL. And the cast members, I remember maybe everyone of them, that's how memorable they were. Kenan and Kel - 80% I loved this show. Many episodes were absolutely hilarious, others never made me laugh. It's those two bumbling idiots that make this show so amusing, like Beavis and Butthead. "Who loves orange soda?" Hey Arnold! - 90% Remember that bright side I was talking about? Here it is. Some shows were very amusing, other shows dealed with the life of a teenager, and the rest were just simply fun to watch. Every one of the characters were different and unique, everyone had their own troubles that the show focused on and that was such a great idea. We didn't have to focus on Arnold the entire time. Ren & Stimpy - 70% I had nightmares watching this show. Definetly not for kids. Grown up however, I realize the humor in this. Watching Stimpy sing "HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY" is one of those special moments of your childhood, and the memorable LOG stays in your memory forever. The jokes however are intended for a more mature audience and I doubt Nick should have ever aired this. Wild & Crazy Kids - 75% I liked watching this show. The challenges were sometimes very entertaining to watch and they really looked like they were a lot of fun. Only problem were the hosts. Ugh, how annoying can they get? Doug - 95% DOUG! Not that insulting Disney version, the one that has aired for almost a decade now! To this day it remains one of my all time favorite shows because the real life situations appealed to me, I've dealt with many of those experiences before myself. Doug is such a si
mple character, he's just an average guy and sometimes we like to see that in a TV show. And of course the humor was also there, not humor where you make the main character act like an idiot *coughSPONGEBOBAGAINcough*. The humor was sophisticated in a way, and that created a brilliant formula with the show. Rugrats - 85% I look at Rugrats and see Nick itself and how both have changed. Both started out so simple, but so appealing. Slowly they managed to build up popularity, until they decided they needed to load up the artillery. Rugrats eventually brought in new babies, while Nick brought in loads of new shows, both with no thought and no imagination. Rugrats and Nick are directly connected, when Rugrats succeeded Nick succeeded. However, from the constant re-tooling and changing, they have lost a lot of what they were. Rugrats means so much to Nick, ratings are likely to drop, so does Nick let go of the show like every other show? I think it's been to big to drop, but it's not fair at all considering other shows have receieved that exact fate. The Angry Beavers - 90% This stuff is GENIUS! This may be the closest to an ideal show I have ever witnessed, something every generation would love. Sure didn't last too long, this show bit the dust too. Why must Nick remove the shows with slightly more adult appeal? To attract younger children? Younger children can watch Nick Jr. (Which I'm not going to rate because I'm not one to judge) This show is about two beavers who live an interesting life each day. Animation is so bright and appealing in this cartoon, this may be the most beautiful cartoon I have ever seen. The show succeeded in capturing sarcastic humor, there's a character stump named, well, Stump, who could be ruler of the world. It never went to far on the silly meter, and threw out such memorable lines such as "Help, the vikings are growing from drinking the lava". One of the most underrated shows
in my time. Invader Zim - 85% *Sigh*. This show has so much potential and they scrapped it after less than a month. Again, we see Nick taking out some of the darker cartoons in exchange for the pathetic ones *COUGH SPONGEBOB for the millionth time COUGH* This show dealt with aliens and the arrival of an alien named Zim on planet Earth, and his interaction with the humans. This was probaby as dark as cartoons get. Salute Your Shorts - 90% Allow me to search my memory for some of the truly great sitcoms made by Nick. Hmmm, Salute Your Shorts, Salute Your Shorts, and did I mention Salute Your Shorts? 'Shorts' is a show about a bunch of kids living at a camp, and their hilarious experiences. The characters were different and memorable, I felt like I was in the camp at times. And what did Nick do to? Scrapped it. No more Spongebob jokes because that's getting old. Legends of the Hidden Temples - 80% This was a neat show. It's like an average extreme sports gameshow, but with the temple twist. The goals and obstacles all involve temple stuff and that sets a really nice atmosphere for the entires show. This one isn't around either. Spongebob Squarepants - 100% HAHA! You never saw this coming did you? Nah just kidding. If I were to give Spongebob a real rating, it would be maybe 35%. Yes it's awful. Yes it ruins Nick's image. But no it's not the worst show ever, I admit on laughing one or two times watching it. Nick seems to be appealing only to children under the age of 10, which they shouldn't be doing because that's what Nick Jr. is for. And once I remember seeing a Sunday block called 'Teen Nick'. Okaay, so they're trying to appeal to teens here? What kind of teenagers are going to watch Taina and Ginger? Nick has an entire history of being stupid, and it's only getting worst. The condition it's in is depressing, the worst part of it is people are
actually WATCHING stuff like Spongebob. I never thought I'd see the day. They can keep on with their act, but I once considered Nick hands down the best kids programming network ever made. Six years ago I could have given them 5 stars without a doubt. If you like watching garbage such as a cat and dog merged together or a sponge living under the sea, by all means, watch Nickelodeon 24/7 and lose brain cells by the second. If you want to stay with intelligent TV though, by all means stay away from Nickelodeon until they change their programming.
Nickelodeon is a channel for all ages but mainly for children. It is on tv from 7am until 7pm. Some of the programmes that are shown on Nickelodeon and a bit about them: RUGRATS......... this programme is about babies that go on little adventures. TOMMY is the baby that isnt scared of anything, his friends look up to him. His mother and father recently had a new baby called Dil and Tommy is really close to him. ANGELICA is Tommy's spoilt cousin, she always plays with her doll Cynthia. She loves to boss her little cousin and his friends around and they do what she says. Angelica is always eating cookies. CHUCKIE is the baby that is scared of everything. He is best friends with Tommy and he looks up to him. His dad got married again and now Chuckie has a sister called Kym. PHIL & LIL the two twins, who are always fighting and getting into trouble. Both of them play with Tommy and Chuckie. They always go on adventures together with their friends, and they are always fighting. Phil and Lil both wear the same clothes apart from their shoes as Lil wears pink ones and a pink bow but Phil wears blue ones. SUZIE is the girl who lives across the street from Tommy, she is the same age as Angelica but they dont get on well as Angelica is nasty but Suzie is kind and nice. The babies like to go on adventures while the grown ups read them stories they pretend that they are at the place. Tommy has a dog called Spike who sometime goes on their adventures. Rugrats is suitable for children aged between 3-10. KENAN AND KEL............ these two are best mates, Kel lives near Kenan but he is always round at Kenan's house. KENAN lives with his mum, dad and his little sister Kara. He works in the cornor shop and he is always messing stuff up. KEL lives with his mum and he really loves orange soda. He always does what Kenan tells him, but he always does things
wrong. Kel is most likely to say 'aw here it goes'. KARA is Kenan's younger sister, she has a crush on Kel and she is always hugging him when he comes round to her house. When Kenan was moving house one time he missed Kel but Kel turned up at his new house and wanted to stay with him. Kenan's family then decided that they should move back to their old house as it was better and the place they were at was a dump. This is ideal for any age from 9-14 or even older than that it is a good show and really funny. SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH.......... this programme is about a girl called Sabrina who finds out when she is 16 that she is a witch so she goes to stay with her two aunts Helda and Selda. Sabrina is ideal for any age to watch but children would enjoy it more. SABRINA the teenage witch, is dating Harvey but there was a time when she fancied Josh here boss. She has a cat that can talk called Salem, Sabrina trys to be normal but it is hard for her since she is a witch and because she has magic. HARVEY he is seeing Sabrina, he enjoys to play football and he is in the school football team. Harvey recently saw Sabrina kiss Josh and he started seeing someone else but he soon got back together with Sabrina. He doesnt know that Sabrina is a witch and I dont think that she will ever tell him. SELDA is Sabrina's aunt, she likes science and she isnt married. She likes to help Sabrina or Helda when they have a problem as she is a caring person. HELDA is Sabrina's other aunt, who is the opposite of Selda, she enjoys dancing and working in her clock shop. She is also single but was married before. SISTER SISTER........... is about two sisters Tia and Tamera who were separated at birth. They found each other in a shop while they were looking at jumpers. Both of their parents decided that the best thing to do would be to move in together. This programme is good and s
uitable for any age. TIA is the smart sister, her mum Lisa is a fashion designer. She likes to read books and also enjoys school. TAMERA is the complete opposite of Tia as she isnt so smart, she doesnt like school but she does like to party and listen to music. Her dad Ray is the owner of a limo firm. RAY is Tamera's dad he has his own business called Ray Limousine Service. It was his idea for Lisa and Tia to move in with him and Tamera. LISA is Tia's mum and she loves making clothes, she lives with Ray in his house and she is single. RODGER is the next door neighbour and goes to the same school as Tia and Tamera, he has a crush on both of them but none of them like him. The twins are always telling Rodger to go home. Other programmes that are on Nickelodeon are: Hey Arnold Doug Arthur Catdog Moesha And many more that is just some of them. Nickelodeon is presented by Mouyna and Yiolanda they enjoy having a laugh and presenting Nickelodeon. The other presenters are Bogey and Rude. Bogey's bad habit is singing in the bath and Rude is very polite. I think that Nickelodeon is a great show for young children from the age of 3-14. Some teenagers or adults migh enjoy watching some of the programmes that are shown on Nickelodeon.
As many others have said 'you may think i'm too old to be writing about Nickelodeon but the reality is, they have the best cartoons around and you're never too old to enjoy cartoons, especially good ones. I have many favourites on Nickelodeon, I watch it quite alot and being a teenager i may be deemed to be too old to like it I dont care what people think. I think if you like it watch it. When it comes to Television theres no such thing as style its just what you want. here are some of my favourites: - Tucker - Sabrina The teenage Witch - Saved by the bell - Sister Sister - Bug Juice (not shown any more) - Keenan and kel - Rocko's Modern Life - Rugrats I think all these programmes are great and 100% entertaining. If i had to say my best it would be tucker because the plots are really interseting and the genre really appeals to me. There are some programmes that let nickoledoen down that should maybe moved to Nick Jnr like 'Real Monsters' and a couple more. But these are nothing because there timing is not at times when i watch T.V like when i'm at school. I have always liked nickelodeon and I will for a lot longer i give it 9.9999/10! It's wicked!
Guess who!? Me again!NICKELODEON WHATEVER THE AGE I am a very fortunate person as I have the priveledge of having digital and having a whole selection of channels varying from cartoons to comedy to soaps to history, geographical and discovery channels. But I'm not discussing cable am I? I'm going to write an opinion on the childrens channel, 'Nickelodeon' that cable, sky and now digital viewers can watch each day. A few facts~ Nickelodeon changes to the 'paramount' channel at 7pm each weekday and the same at weekends. (Only on Cable or sky) The channel is for children although there are programs that young teenagers watch as well. The programs vary from cartoons to comedy shows. WEEKDAYS BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL~ Programs that show during a weekday before and after school are usually programs like 'Angela Annaconda' 'Hey Arnold' and 'Rugrats'. These suit children of a young age, children that have maybe just started school (Again older children watch these programs as well) These are all very popular cartoons that are shown on usual television as well although the advantage of watching them on 'Nickelodeon' is that there are many more episodes to watch. WEEKDAYS DURING SCHOOL TIME~ During school time 'Nickelodeon' provides shows for the young pre-school todlers. 'FACE' is a show where basically a face on the TV screen talk out loud and many other programs such as 'Sesame Street' for example show from 9 till 3. May I add the best shows are on during the lunch hours. SOMETHING FOR THE TEENS~ After school hours, many programs show on 'Nickelodeon' from about 3 till 5 cartoons show but after that till 7pm many programs show for the young teens with programs such as, Sister Sister, Kenan and Kel, Two of a kind and Sabrina the teenage witch. Sister Sister is all about two identical twins called Tia and Tamera and there lives. Kenan and Kel is
about two young lads who are best mates who get into a lot of trouble. Two of a kind is about 2 also identical twins called Mary-Kate and Ashley who have grown up without a mother since she died when they were young, they have a babysitter called Keri. Sabrina the teenage witch is obviously a young witch who is growing up with her aunties. All these programs are comedies and very funny! SCHOOL HOLIDAYS~ In the school holidays extra programs show and even films starring some 'Nickelodeon' stars. You can ring in for FREE and vote for the TV program you want to watch on Nickelodeon. (Which I think is brilliant!) You have non stop entertainment al day long-everyday! THE PRESENTERS~ Nickelodeon has many presenters such as 'Moonia' 'Yiolanda' and 'Matt' as well as many others! They are all really great and keep you entertained. Nickelodeon also gets children into the studio to present and record which looks like really good fun! There are many NEW presenters at the mo but I'm sure you know them all better than me! COMPETITIONS~ Nickelodeon have many competitions for anyone to compete in, some are really fun and the best bit is if you send them in its FREEPOST and if you ring in then its an 0800 number which is also FREE! I am trying to tell you that Nickelodeon is a very good channel for children, fun filled whatever the age. I always watched Nick whenever it was on because I loved it! I am now 14 and unfortunately I hardly ever watch the channel anymore so you can grow out of it unfortunately! Otherwise if you haven't subscribed for the channel and the kids are nagging you for it~GO FOR IT! Thanks for reading~M~
Nickelodeon is, without question, the best Kids Channel suite on Sky TV. Firstly, you get Nick. Nick screens various popular shows such as Kenan and Kel, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Cousin Skeeter. It is about a 50/50 mix of cartoons and live action shows, and does show a lot of repeats. King of the repeats however is Nick Replay, or nick+1, which shows identical programming to Nick, but one hour later. Finally, we have Nick Jr. Nick Jr shows first rate classic little kids programmes such as Clangers and Bagpuss. (Yes! - Heaven....). All intersprsed with Face, the virtual Nick Jr Host. Nick movies is to launch this autumn.
