NHK World:
... ways different things are manufactured, to shows focusing on Japanese culture. Armchair travellers will find delight in Hometowns in Focus, where one gets to travel Japan and vist towns, and villages of interest that it may never have occurred to them to visit otherwise. The Nihongo Quick Lesson (Nihongo means the Japanese language) are fun and slightly silly, appealing both to children and adults. Each seg... Freeview ... is an alternative to subscription services, and offers you around 50 tv channels, and about 25 radio stations. Once you have purchased a free view box or a tv with it built in, you never have to pay anything again. There are 2 different types of freeview, standard, which uses an arial, and free sat, which is from a satellite. Free sat is more expensive to buy at first, but then shares the free subscription. The only bad thing about freeview is the nature of digital signal. On analogue, if a channel was not perfect, you could still view it, but it might have ghosting or be fuzzy. On digital, the program is either brilliant perfect quality, or not there at all. ... Read the full review: Such a cheap box adds 50 channels and 25 radio stations by Splooshiba |

CBeebies ... is a freeview channel which is also available on Sky TV. It was first broadcast in 2002 and is very popular! It is aired from 6am to 7pm and is aimed at children of pre-school age. The programmes it shows include Bob the Builder, Nina and the Neurons, In the Night Garden and Charlie and Lola. The programmes are fairly educational so I don t tend to mind my children watching them but I do tend to find that the shows are repeated throughout the day so it is not a babysitter for sure! I use the channel if I need to get on with cooking dinner, or to get some housework done. The programmes are bright, colourful and catchy. They all include music of some kind,... HBO ... documentary that looks at the work of forensic pathologists and the like, as they discover interesting things through examining dead bodies. It s ugly viewing, with dead bodies galore, and the stories themselves are so shocking they can stay with you for ages. Again, it s typical HBO, and I love that! There are occasional shows that aren t so good, such as Entourage, but all in all you can trust HBO to be at the forefront of gritty television. All in all, I love this channel. I love the way it shows the content other channels are afraid to show: brilliant! However, I would definitely say that this is not for kids, or those who are easily offended, so bear that in mind!...
