Advantages: A mix of old classics, new shows and tons of films

Disadvantages: Repeats can sometimes get a little tiresome

I love the Sci-Fi channel and i can sit and watch it for hours on end, thats because im a geek and i have a strange obsession with low budget disaster movies and the cheesey low budget film from the Asylum Production company that brought us such classics as Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus most recently.

The Sci-Fi channel was first broadcast on British TV in 1995 and is the sister company of the American channel SyFy. Its specialises in a range of shows and films catering to the Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror genres. It started life showing re-runs of old Sci-Fi shows such as The Outer Limits, Lost In Space and Buck Rogers but has since moved on dramatically. SCi-Fi now shows more contemporary programmes like heroes and My Own Worst Enemy, Medium, 3rd Rock From the Sun and many more. It still shows older classic shows like Star Trek sandwiched inbetween

The Channel show on Sky Chanel 129 and Virgin Channel 135 continues to to grow and is always advertising premiers of new American shows which make it still interesting and always fresh. They have special months where they show a series of films from a genre last month i think it was Fantasy adventure to coincide with their premier of the show Legend of The Seeker.

If your a total geek like me you will find no end of entertainment on this channel be it a new sci-fi show to get your teeth into or a old classic to watch again. With their range of films shown all day you can always waste away a few hours watching films like Killer Flood or Toxic Skies which if nothing are entertaining for their terrible special effects that will keep you laughing for hours.

On the whole this channel does exactly what it says it shows sci-fi all day long and if your anything like me how on earth can that be a bad thing
