Nice TV, poor SHOP (Shop!)

Advantages: Good looking, Nice presentation

As a regular user of QVC I found that shop appeared to be much more up beat and far easier to watch. The larger (apparent) variety of products was also a big plus. So much for looks ? I recently purchased an item as part of the channels ?Killer Deal? section and this was where my opinion of the channel takes a bit of a dive.

The first problem was when we rang we were quoted the full price rather than the deal price (which was still on screen at the time). After a short ?ish? bit of ?looking into it? we were advised that they had made an error and we would be invoiced the ?killer deal? price. Result, however on receiving the bill we had been invoiced the full amount. On ringing to advise Shop of this error we were advised that the product had been at the full price on the day we ordered it. We had to speak to someone more senior before they agreed to refund the difference to my plastic card. I have yet to check to see if this has happened but I am currently presuming that it will occur.

Now to the product which is not nearly as effective (it is a cleaning product) as demonstrated on the programme. No problem it comes with a no quibble guarantee, however unlike QVC you have to pay postage to return unwanted items. Now £4.20 may not be much money but thus in my opinion shows a distinct lack of service on the part of Shop, in addition purchasing from them is not the no risk proposition offered by some other shopping channels.

I do not believe that I shall be purchasing any further items from this channel, however I may well watch it again, as I said it is easy to watch, and look for products I like the look of elsewhere. To errors and a poor product all from one purchase is not a good first impression. Did I mention that we did not receive an apology for being overcharged just an assurance they would put it right?
