Sky 1 is Sky's flagship entertainment channel broadcasting 24 hours a day on Satellite & Cable. Satellite viewers can also take advantage of a high definition simulcast of the channel with a large amount of native HD material available.

A large number of the high profiled american dramas such as Prison Break & Lost can be found here. These sorts of dramas always tend to air on terrestrial television first & if they prove to be popular Sky just buy it up, as was the case with their most recent acquistion House, previously shown by channel 5. I'm not a huge fan of these dramas, as I think they are so drown out, but if you are the channel is full of them.

However before of the variety of shows on, there's something for everyone. I particularly like the UK docu-dramas such as Road Wars & Street Wars. I also enjoyed the recent revivial of Gladiators, although this wasn't a patch on the original, it was good to have it back in some form. Also I have always been a huge fan of The Simpsons & all the new episodes are still shown here first.

Overall I wouls say Sky 1 has enough variety in it's programmes to please the whole family.
