Advantages: Large selection of programmes, different to other channels, lots of Sci-fi programmes

Disadvantages: As with all Sky channels - repeats of the same programme on the same day, lots of adverts

In my opinion Sky One is one of the best channels currently available whether you have digital, cable or sky TV.

Sky One has a large selection of programmes most of which are Sci-fi, programmes include The X files which is on at least once a week, Star Trek Voyager, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Roswell, Highland the series wicch is on once a night at about 1am, Star Trek The Next Generation which is on three times everyday, (each one repeats itself) and Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

There are many cartoons on Sky One most of which are on early in the morning before mid day. Sky One is obviously well known for The Simpsons which is on every night at 7pm for one hour till 8pm. (Two episodes)

In the day Sky One shows a lot of chat shows which as mostly American such as Sally Jessy Raphael and Jenny Jones, both of which are like watching Jerry Springer apart from the fights.

At night between the times of about 9pm - 2am everyday, Sky One has recently started showing a lot of game show documentaries, or just documentaries mostly which are shot in holiday destinations. Examples of these shows include Summer Uncovered, Miami Uncovered, The Villa, Reps in Ibiza and Prickly Heat.

The Villa is a little like a holiday version of Big Brother apart from its not shot live and no one is nominated, 10 people are put into a house and are filmed as they go out drinking on holiday etc....

Summer uncovered, Miami uncovered and reps in Ibiza is just like the Ibiza uncovered which has been screened on C4 in the past, basically they just follow a number of people round their daily lifes abroad. (very exciting)

Prickly heat is only only once a week, its set on a beach and is a game show against groups of people from different countries. Its quite different as the games they play look quite fun and its intresting to see how people from countries like USA and Germany react to it. Pricly Heat is hosted by Denise Van Outon and Julia
n Clary. Its well worth watching if u've got nothing better to do!

Apart from all the programmes mentioned above Sky One does show the occasional film here and there which are usually worth watching.

Overall i'd say that Sky One is a pretty good channel and if you do have it then its definately worth watching some of the programmes that are on, although with most sky channels beware of the repeats and lots of adverts.
