Advantages: Huge choice of channels

Disadvantages: An extra HD subscription charge

If you want the highest quality high definition television experience currently available, there are currently no real rivals to Sky's HD Service which at present offers 38 HD channels compared to it's nearest rival Virgin media offering just 4.

The channels range from entertainment channels, sports & movie channels to documentary channels. I have to say I think the sports channels illustrate some of the best pictures I have seen so far, it's just like being at the particular sporting event.

The set top box has 320GB storage space, half of which is reserved for Anytime TV, so you have 160GB remaining for your own recording, this may sound alot, but high definition recording to tend to eat up alot of space. Currently there is an offer on where you can get your first box for a bargain price of £49, any additional boxes thereafter cost £199 each. As well as this, there is an additional subscription charge of £10 for each box you have. I really do hope that Sky consider dropping this extra charge in the near future as it will make people think twice before upgrading.

So if you have your shiny new HD ready TV & you want to watch television the way it was intended to be watched on such a set then Sky HD is a no brainer with its sheer selection of variety, it knocks any competiton striaght out!

Summary: A must if you have an HD TV set
