We had Sky+ HD installed in our apartment last month. We have a three year old Phillips 42inch plasma tv. When the engineer installed the box he informed us that the picture may not be flawless due to the age of our television, however once we were hooked up my boyfriend automatically tuned in to Sky Sports 1 HD and the picture was flawless. We decided to get Sky+ High Definition in our house when Setanta went bust earlier in the year and freed up £12.99 per month. We are currently with Sky so any other provider such as Virgin wasn't really an option as we are happy with the level of service. It was choice between high definition Sky or ESPN for the football and after ... Read the complete review

If you want the highest quality high definition television experience currently available, there are currently no real rivals to Sky's HD Service which at present offers 38 HD channels compared to it's nearest rival Virgin media offering just 4. The channels range from entertainment channels, sports & movie channels to documentary ... Read the complete review

I purchased Sky HD in February 2009 as a treat to myself for quitting smoking! Having bought a new HD TV it seemed the obvious next step, and was being offered on a very good deal by Sky at the time! As always the communication from Sky was excellent throughtout the booking process and they turned up to connect us only 2 weeks later - ... Read the complete review

My review is a little different to the others in that I am really reviewing the Sky+ HD box and the principle of HD, rather than the Sky HD subscription service. Why? Well, I brought my HD box privately (i.e. not from Sky) and just use it with my normal Sky subscription. This gives me the added benefit of additional hard disk space ... Read the complete review

So, you have your HD Television. How do you watch something in HD. You have three options. Some kind of Blu Ray player, Free-Sat HD or Sky HD. I got sky HD because I have a 1080P Full High Definition TV. I wanted to get the best out of it so I got Sky HD instead of my normal subscription. It costs at the moment £50 to buy a box & ... If you want high definition in the United Kingdom, I'm afraid Sky+HD is the only way to go. I guarantee it will always provide the best HD package. Freeview HD will only have room for 5 HD channels when it launches (either 2010, 2011 or 2012 depending on area): BBC HD, ITV HD, Channel 4 HD, Five HD and one other. Freesat HD ... I've been using Sky for nearly 10 years, and around 6 months ago we upgraded to Sky+ HD. I had been interested in the recording and pausing features, but as we had recently purchased a 42" HD TV then it became more of a necessity than anything else, which is my first point. If you are thinking about getting a large (30" +) ... Read the complete review

We had sky for about 3 years now, an having badgered my other half for a new tv ( HD ) of course it was only right we upgraded and got sky HD. Luckily we waited and got it for £49 discounted, but to be honested knowing what i know now i wouldve paid the £199 they were originally selling for. Of course you will need a HD tv to support the HD ... Read the complete review

Sky HD is an absolute revolution in television broadcasting - the quality of the picture is amazing, like nothing you're even seen before. To get Sky HD, you need a new HD box from Sky - just buying an HD-ready TV doesn't give you HD (that might sound obvious to people in the know, but you'd be surprised at how many people with an ... I used to hear people talking about Sky television and saying how wonderful it was but it was never something I thought about getting. I had always been under the impression that it was quite an expensive thing to have. I was relatively happy with my freeview box which had only cost me a one-off of £20. When my lovely other-half and I ... Read the complete review

As a former customer of SKY TV for almost a decade, I decided to leave in favour of the free BT Vision service to save a few pennies. However, this was always reluctantly and the lure of now being able to utilise my HD TV through Sky HD proved to great for me and I re-joined the service earlier this year. Sky HD is essentially SKY+ but ... Read the complete review

I finally got around to upgrading to Sky HD a few weeks ago. I had owned a "HD Ready" LCD for about 2 years, but only just got tempted to sign up, thanks to the £49 SKY HD box offer currently running. However, before you rush off to sign up! You will need a HD ready TV and don't forget that (a) your subscription will increase ... Read the complete review

We upgraded to Sky HD about a year ago. We already had Sky and multi room and the additional cost ( the box cost circa £100 ) was around £35 per month. I am a great fan of Sky plus - the record and pause / rewind facility is so useful and easy to use. We have Sky mainly for sport ( cricket/rugby union ) so were very eager to see how HD changed ... I have had sky HD for a few weeks and getting it was very hard to get because loads of people want it. It is poor at the moment with the amount of channels it has for HD but more channels should be on their way. Sky HD is good for it recordings and pausing. Are we sitting comfortably? then I'll begin. Hopefully I can tell you lots about HD. HD had been in the pipeline for about the last 5 years I think. When Plasma and LCD TV's became big in the shops there were 2 setting on these TV's. The earlier ones were HD compatible, and the later ones were HD ready. The HD compatible ones had the ... When describing a luxury item, Sky HD fits the bill perfectly - no one can claim to need it. As with most things technological, the UK is a good five years behind our friends across the Atlantic where pretty much every channel is broadcast in HD. We have been Sky customers for years and got Sky+ as soon as it was released a couple of years ago. (Can't imagine being without now, it's fab!) Despite having a nice 32" Sony HD ready LCD, we resisted the urge to get Sky+ HD due to the high initial charges. We already had the benefit of being able to watch blurays on the PS3 so had some ...
