SKY MOVIES INDIE is one of the Sky Movies premium channels, showing movies made independently of the Hollywood system. This means that the channel does not show the usual 'blockbuster' fare and instead focusses on lesser known work.

I particularly like SKY MOVIES INDIE because of the seasons of films that they broadcast. For example in January they are showing a series of movies directed by the French director Francois Truffaut, including a film that I've never seen before, LOVE ON THE RUN, made in 1979 and starring Jean-Pierre Léaud.

Other movies coming up in January include the Neil Young concert movie HEART OF GOLD which I am looking forward to seeing, and also 2 Spike Lee movies which are new to me, SCHOOL DAZE and HE GOT GAME.

Sky Movies Indie is available on channel 310 on Sky Digital, and broadcasts from 10am until 4am each day. I would thoroughly recommend it if you like watching movies outside the mainstream.
