Advantages: Great channel, good anchors, very fast coverage of most breaking news.

Sky News is a 24 hour news channel which first starting broadcasting in February 1989 as part of the Sky Television service which had a very small amount of channels.

Sky News is predominantly aimed at news in the UK & Ireland and is broadcast on to Sky & Freeview customers, however, it's quite common to see this in hotels and some bars abroad so Brits can keep in touch with the news back at home.

There are many well established news anchors on the programme and it's broken up in to lots of different slots throughout the day and may specialise on something special for a certain amount of hours each day such as Sport, News, Entertainment etc and I always find Sky News to be very fast with breaking news and this is the channel that I always turn to first if I've read a rumour online and want some sort of confirmation.

When you visit Sky News and they're having a dedicated general news hour or two then you will get the news in 15 minutes every 15 minutes throughout the programme and this is a great way for me to catch up on the days news without spending too much time watching stuff I'm not particularly bothered about.

Overall I think that the quality of the news & the staff on the show is very high and when I want to get a quick news catch up I can just turn on and immediately pick up on what subject they're discussing as they're sure to have a scrolling text part at the bottom of the screen or to frequently mention what they're talking about so it's easy to just get straight in to the story.

I like the way that Sky News will always link to somewhere where they have received some allegations or information such as linking to websites where suspected stories have been reported. This is great as it's much better than having wild allegations flying around the place and nothing to back them up!

I will continue to use Sky News to keep up to date as for the most part I trust their stories and enjoy the anchors they have on their.

I am rating Sky News 4/5 as it's a great channel in my opinion and one I shall no doubt continue to watch to find out the breaking news.

Summary: A fantastic news channel keeping abreast of most situations.
