Sky+ is probably one of the greatest thing ever invented. I still remember the times when the only way to record my favourite TV programmes was through using a video recorder. However, the tapes always skipped, had bad quality and I had to spend countless hours rewinding and forwarding the VHS tapes to find the location of a particular programme I recorded. And I will spare to mention the agony when I discovered I had recorded over a particularly juicy episode of my favourite soap.

Then, Sky+ came along and made everything so much easier. There's now so much room in the living room now all the VHS tapes are gone. The amount of programmes that could be recorded are large. You could even set up a series link so you don't need to press the "Record" button every time. Furthermore, you could rewind in the middle of a particular programme if you missed something. Ever since Sky+ came along I've been finding myself watching so much more movies and missing less of my favourite programmes

The disadvantage of Sky+ is that you'll need to get a special subscription as well as a new set top box. Another disadvantage is that you could only record two programmes in a go, and when doing this you are not allowed to skip to another channel unless you want to cancel one of the recordings. Furthermore, there's a limited storage space and you might need to upgrade your subscription and box to gain some more.
