Advantages: Makes life a lot easier

I've been the proud owner of a sky + box for about two years & the thought of being without it brings me out in cold sweats!

As I'm out & about quite a lot during the week & at weekends, it's invaluable for recording programmes I like to watch when I have some quiet time at home, and all with minimum effort due to the ease of using the menu & the remote control - when I know that a programme is on over the next few days I can set the box up to record it whilst I think about it, and use the series link function if it's something that is on each week.

You can also keep anything you've recorded which you think you will want to watch over again, and the capacity for the amount of recordings you can keep has never caused me any problems.

The other major function of the sky + box is that you can pause whatever programme you're watching if you want to go out & make some dinner / a drink / answer the phone, which is very handy, and also to be able to rewind what you are watching if you miss something is brilliant.

I paid £99 for the original installation of sky +, and at the time was in two minds about whether it was going to be a worthwhile investment, but am so pleased now that I have. As for the reliability of the equipment, I've never had any issues & am still on my first box.

Summary: the best £100 I've spent on a household item
