Advantages: Series Links, Recording Two Programmes at same time, Pausing and Rewinding Live TV

Disadvantages: 20 Hours might not be enough time/space to record all your favourite shows.

Having had Sky+ for a few years I couldn't be without it now. We used to have normal Sky where you had a choice of numerous channels to watch but you didn't have the capacity for recording programmes as well. The main features of Sky+ include an easy to use Planner which lists all the channels on Sky and gives listings for all programmes as well. You can search via Genre including Entertainment, Movies, Music, Sports etc or you can search A-Z programs so whether you are looking for a particular program to watch or whether you want to browse the different categories. You have the choice of whether to watch the program, record the program or set a reminder so that you get an onscreen reminder when your program is about to start. The planner lists all programs up to 7 days in advance letting you choice what you want to watch (or record) over the next 7 days.

You can record up to two programmes at the same time so for example you could be watching Coronation Street and taping Eastenders at the same time. You can then watch Eastenders that you have recorded after Coronation Street. You can even tape both soaps at the same time and watch something you have recorded earlier whilst both programmes are recording. You can watch what you want, when you want.

As well as recording programs you have the capacity to set up a "Series Link" so that your Sky+ system will record every future programme of your favourite show/s. This means you not only don't miss any of your favourite programmes but it also means that you don't have to remember to record every time.

Sky+ has an easy to use Planner for seeing what you have recorded and what you are due to record so you can easily navigate to the program you want to watch. You can also download your recordings onto a HD recorder should your Sky+ memory become close to becoming full. Most standard Sky+ systems have 20 hours of recording.

One last feature to mention is that you can pause and rewind live TV. Never again will you miss anything as you can rewind what you have just watched and play it over and over again. The main advantages as well is that if the phone rings or you really do need that tea break you can just pause what you are watching and resume play at any time.

Sky+ really does give you the best viewing experience and puts you in charge of the TV you want to watch.

Summary: Putting you in charge of your TV viewing
