Advantages: Convenient and easy to use.

Disadvantages: Can be unreliable.

After having sky for many years when I lived with my parents I knew there was no way I could get by without it. When I moved into my own place I decided I may aswell go one better and get sky plus. A few of my friends had it and told me how great it was so I knew it would be a worthwhile investment. I really underestimated how much I would come to rely on it...

I find myself recording everything I want to watch and watching it at a time which suits me. I cannot think of one instance (except for live football) where I have watched a tv show as it is being broadcast. This is a great benefit because I can fit in my daily dose of Hollyoaks (a guilty pleasure) whenever I want.

You have the option to set a 'series link' on your favourite shows. For example, Hollyoaks is on channel 4 every weekday at 6:30. I've set my box so that it will record every episode of hollyoaks. Its a great time saver and is really convenient. You can even record two programmes at the same time.

The sky plus box can save an awful lot of programmes. For example, a tv show lasting around 40 minutes will only need 1% of the sky plus' memory. I've got loads of films and tv shows recorded on mine and it still has only taken up 40%.

Once or twice I've encountered problems where a show or film has not recorded or where it has recorded but it won't play but these are few and far between. Overall, I'd say that sky plus is well worth having.

Summary: Everyone needs sky plus.
