We fially gave up the ghost with Virgin a few weeks back and decided to switch to Sky as the service from Virgin was pants and so we bought a Sky+ box for our TV viewing. We toyed with the idea of going for a HD version but decided against it due to the extra monthly cost involved and the offer was for a free box and free installation which only took a couple of weeks to arrange and complete.
What I like about the box is the ability to pause the programme you are watching as well as recording shows that you are not able to see. It is very easy to operate and the remote is a nice solid affair with easy to use buttons.
There are plenty of packages to choose from and you can tailor the service to your own needs, it is best to check out the website to decide on what is right for you.
As well as being able to record shows you can also set reminders so that you are less likely to miss those shows that you like, the box has an 80gb memory so can hold many hours of viewing however it is worth getting into the habit of deleting stuff on a regular basis to keep as much memory as possible free.
Our monthly cost at the moment is £24 however we do not bother with the sports or movie channels however we may reconsider the movies in the future depending on our finances as the boyfriend has a loan payment due to end soon from his student days and we may use this money to pay for the movies.
I hae been impressed wih the service so far, installation was hassle free and the box works without any glitches and has been a good purchase and the customer service line is loads better than the Virgin one.
