Advantages: Very Easy To Use, Watch Shows You Would Have Missed

Disadvantages: Anytime TV upadting is a little noisey

This has to be one of the best things I own. Due to its ease of use it means that I no longer have to miss a programme that I want to watch.

*****Recording*****

This is extremely easy to do. All you have to do to start a recording is find the show you want to record and hit the record button - done. The same applies for recording something that is on immediately or in the future. This is great because it means no having to set time records on your DVD/VHS recorder and then getting ready to watch what you have "just recorded" only to realise you've made a mistake.


*****Series Link*****

This allows you to put a show which is aired each week on to a link which automatically records it for you. This is also extremely easy and all that is required is again pressing a single button , then that's you.
I've only used this once and it worked fine, but I don't like my planner being crowded by reminders and future records so I don't really use it.


*****Anytime TV*****

When I first got Sky+ I was thinking about turning off the Anytime TV option (can be done by going through the settings menu). Afterall I knew what I wanted to watch and would just record it if I had to. However, I decided not to turn it off and was pleasantly surprised. There is quite a variety of good shows put on here each week that I would have missed. The downpoint to Anytime TV is that when it's updating (downloading the shows to your box) it can be a little noisey. I'm not that bothered by it, but ti could annoy some people.


*****Layout/Looks*****

Personally I don't really like the look of the box on the outside. It's quite plain and doesn't have anything that stands out or gives it a bit of character.
However, the actual layout of the menus, etc, is excellent. It's just the same as a normal Sky box but within the planner is your recordings as well as reminders and the Anytime Tv option is at the bottom of the Tv guide.
Everything is very well aid out, with simplicity being the key to it's success.


*****Opinion*****

If you have Sky and don't have Sky+ then I recommend you get it. You'll get to watch so many more shows that you would have missed, because you couldn't be bothered with the hassle of recording it.
LIkewise, if you don't have Sky and are thinking about getting it then this should definetely be included in your package. 10/10
