Advantages: Watch your programmes whenever you like, never miss an episode with Series Link
Disadvantages: Hard drive could be bogger
For me, Sky+ is one of the greatest inventions ever!
Sky+ allows you to record programmes from your TV straight onto the box's hard drive - no messing around finding a blank DVD or a spare tape. Simply browse Sky's Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), find a programme you want to watch and hit the record button - no typing video plus numbers in or anything like that!
You can store somewhere around 24 hours' worth of programmes on your Sky+ box, once you've watched something, simply delete it to free up a bit more space.
Another great feature of Sky+ is called Series Link - this enables you to record every episode of a programme/series by just clicking one button. No more having to remember to put next week's on to record - just set Series Link up and you'll never miss an episode ever again.
Sky+ also includes Anytime TV - this is a feature where Sky selects a number of programmes that people can watch/record whenever they want. These programmes usually stay on Anytime for about a week.
Downsides to Sky+?
Well, you can only record 2 channels at once which isn't often a problem, but sometimes is. Plus the box does only have a limited hard drive - it'd be nice to be able to upgrade that! These are only minor negative points though!
I love Sky+, I don't think I could live without it - I couldn't tell you the last time I watched something on the TV at the time it was actually broadcast.
Summary: Sky+ is absolutely fantastic
