Advantages: Never miss your fave shows again! Really simple to use
Disadvantages: none
You're just settling down to your favourite programme and the phone rings...its someone on for a long chat - no problem with your handy sky plus box!! No fiddling around for blank tapes or dvds to record it, you simply press the pause button and off you go...!
Sky plus is a digital receiver and recorder all in one box and is pretty fantastic!
It connects to your TV and allows you to receive your chosen Sky channels, whilst enabling you to record them too. Not only that, but you can pause and rewind live tv.
You can set yourself reminders so that you dont miss a programme whilst watching another. You can record up to two programmes simultaneously whilst still watching another.
You can even set a series link so that you never miss an episode of your favourite show.
The storage allows you to record 40 hours of programmes and the stuff you have taped is easily displayed by the touch of a button. So great not to have to find room for blank dvds and faff around labelling it all up.
You can also record stuff via your mobile if you have the 'sky by mobile' application - you dont even have to be home to do it!
You dont have to be a techno expert to use it either, its ridiculously simple to use even my mum can do it (sorry mum!)
Sky have usually got an offer on which is worth checking out - I got M&S vouchers with mine but currently they are running a free box when you get any sky package worth £16.50 a month, and also £25 Tesco vouchers - not bad.
I had a problem with my first box within the 12 month warranty period, and Sky were out superquick and replaced it as the problem had gone on for a while. I have to say that my personal experience with Sky customer services has been absolutely excellent which gives you great peace of mind when subscribing.
All in all, a really easy to use system that will quickly become indispensable to you!
Summary: How did I ever do without this?!!

- 28/05/09 It varies depending on what type of house / flat you have and what the reception is like so I couldn't have included that information. |
