Advantages: The live pause feature is brilliant

Disadvantages: Not everyone will be able to use the record one channel while watching another feature

Sky Plus is a brilliant invention! Its main selling point is allowing you to record programmes to view later. Many people will be able to record one Sky programme while watching a different channel, though this depends on you having a particular type of Sky connection which if you live in a block of flats with communal satellite dish may not be available. Even if not it's still well worth the money just to be able to watch back programmes.

The amount of storage space for recorded programmes is ample - we've had our box for almost a year and have never run out of space as you simply delete programmes once you've watched them.

Another of the features is the ability to 'pause' live television, so if your phone rings or you fancy making a cup of tea you can just pause the programme rather than waiting for the adverts or missing some of the show.

It's also very straightforward to use, even for the most technophobic tv addict! The remote control is pretty much self-explanatory, and it comes with a good clear instruction booklet in case you do get confused. The remote control can also be programmed so it controls the channels and volume on your television too, which is very handy as then you don't have to keep track of two remotes!

In summary, Sky Plus is a great product - far superior to the normal Sky Box, and with many excellent deals on installation (dooyoo lists most of the offers) it's well worth your money!
